Myakka River At Myakka River State Park affecting Sarasota County.
.Mainly dry conditions are expected for the next several days which
will allow flood waters to continue to recede.
For the Cypress Creek...including SR 54 Worthington Gardens...Minor
flooding is forecast.
For the Myakka...including Myakka River State Park...Minor flooding
is forecast.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.
Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.

Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Tampa Bay Ruskin FL 801 AM EDT Fri Sep 17 2021 .DISCUSSION... Post-Tropical Cyclone Nicholas meanders across LA today. An area of low pressure off the Carolina coast troughs southwest... stretching across northern FL. These features will help keep deep moisture in place along with an initially light flow. However the flow takes on a southwest to westerly component during the day but remains on the light side. Forecasts look good with scattered showers and a few storms on the coastal waters that transition onshore this morning then inland in the afternoon with increased coverage. The rainfall and cloud cover will keep afternoon high mainly in the upper 80s. The heat indices stay in a 97 to 101 degree range. && .AVIATION... 17/12-18/12Z. Prevailing BKN mid and high clouds. SCT SHRA/ISOLD TSRA with FEW-SCT CB right along the beaches will drift onshore in very light winds during the next couple of hours. These then push inland as the winds pick up slightly and become SW. However VCSH will continue into the early evening. && .MARINE... Winds/seas no more than 10 knots/2 feet although locally higher in and near showers and thunderstorms. A weak trough across the waters gives way to high pressure building in for the weekend and continuing into early next week.
