SAN JUAN AND EASTERN KANE COUNTIES INCLUDING LAKE POWELL UNTIL 545 PM

At 455 PM MDT, National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated a
strong thunderstorm near Ticaboo, or 51 miles northwest of Mexican
Hat...moving southeast at 15 mph.
Half inch hail and wind gusts in excess of 50 mph will be possible.
Locations impacted include...
Ticaboo and Glen Canyon National Recreation Area.
This storm will be capable of producing winds of 50 mph or greater on
Lake Powell. This will lead to a sudden increase in waves and very
choppy waters which will result in hazardous boating conditions.
Boaters are urged to seek safe harbor if possible.
This includes Utah Route 276 between mile markers 32 and 34.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
If threatening weather approaches, take shelter in a sturdy building.
Boaters on Lake Powell should seek safe harbor immediately until the
winds subside.
