* Flash Flood Warning for...
The Trail Mountain Burn Scar in...
West Central Emery County in central Utah...
* Until 430 PM MDT.
* At 127 PM MDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
thunderstorms producing heavy rain over the Trail Mountain Burn
Scar. Between 0.25 and 0.5 inches of rain have fallen. The
expected rainfall rate is 1 to 2 inches in 1 hour. Flash flooding
is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
Excessive rainfall over the burn scar will result in debris flow
moving through the Trail Mountain Burn Scar. The debris flow can
consist of rock, mud, vegetation and other loose materials.
HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms
producing flash flooding in and around the Trail
Mountain Burn Scar.

A debris flow is expected to impact Huntington Creek, spring water
supply infrastructure, and potentially the Crandall Canyon Monument.
Additionally the water intakes for the Huntington Power Plant just
upstream from Huntington, and the Huntington Cleveland Irrigation
Company may be impacted.
Move away from recently burned areas. Life-threatening flooding of
creeks, roads and normally dry washes is likely. The heavy rains
will likely trigger rockslides, mudslides and debris flows in steep
terrain, especially in and around these areas.
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

At 154 PM MDT, Utah Department of Transportation reported
thunderstorms producing heavy rain over the Trail Mountain Burn Scar
have caused flooding across State Route 31. Between 0.5 and 1 inch
of rain has fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 1 to 2 inches in 1
hour. Flash flooding is occurring.
Excessive rainfall over the burn scar has resulted in debris flow
moving through the Trail Mountain Burn Scar. The debris flow can
consist of rock, mud, vegetation and other loose materials.

AT 430 PM MDT THIS AFTERNOON FOR WEST CENTRAL EMERY COUNTY...
Flood waters have receded. The heavy rain has ended. Flooding is no
longer expected to pose a threat. Please continue to heed remaining
road closures, including SR-31 between mile markers 40 and 44 where
UDOT continues to clean up debris across the road.
A Flash Flood Watch remains in effect until 900 PM MDT for portions
of Utah and southwest Wyoming.
