For the 23/00Z TAF update, VFR skies prevail in a ridge over our
airspace that is gradually shifting eastward into the Mississippi
Valley. As it does that, calm/VRB05 winds out of the south pick
up by 23/15Z, especially with KLFK and KTYR. MVFR vis remains
possible at KELD and KMLU with FG by 23/12Z. /16/

SHORT TERM.../Tonight through Tuesday Night/

Just an incredible warmup today after a cool start to our day with
afternoon temperatures well into the 60s across the entire Four
State Region and I would not be surprised to see some locations
across our southern zones sniff 70 degrees before 5 pm today. Sfc
ridge directly ovhd attm and will only shift very slowly eastward
this evening into the overnight hours. Should see good
radiational cooling conditions overnight with clear skies and
light to calm winds. The only exception to this will be our far
western zones which will be west of the true sfc ridge axis. This
will keep winds up slightly and thus, should offset cooling
somewhat.

Sfc ridge grows legs and quickly moves east of our region on
Tuesday. Cyclogenesis in the lee of the Rockies on Tuesday will
result in a strengthening pressure gradient across the Southern
Plain. This southerly component to our surface winds should really
help to boost temperatures with afternoon highs in the 70s across
most locations. MOS temps struggle anyway with a very dry
atmospheric environment but more so lately with snowpack concerns
but that is not an issue anymore except for portions of SW AR
where you can still make out a little snow on the ground from near
TXK to Hope to near Prescott, Ar. The cool bias will eventually
work its way out of these MOS temperature equations but until that
time, the rule of the game has been to go above MOS temperature
output concerning daytime high temperatures and that is what I did
when considering high temperatures on Tuesday.

Winds should keep the atmosphere will mixed Tuesday Night and
thus, stayed on the warmer side of guidance with the return of low
clouds tickling our western and southern zones by sunrise Wed
Morning.

LONG TERM.../Wednesday through Sunday Night/

Upper-level zonal flow at the start of the long term period to
support fairly stable conditions with mostly cloudy skies areawide
on Wednesday. A cold front moving across the region on Wednesday
will allow for high temperatures to range from the lower 70s across
deep east Texas ahead of the front to the mid 60s across the I-30
corridor. Frontal boundary to stall and linger across the northern
gulf coast through the remainder of the forecast period ending
Sunday night. A series of upper-level shortwave disturbances
translating east across the region within the vicinty of the frontal
boundary will generate scattered to numerous showers from Wednesday
night through Sunday night. Heavier convection with isolated
thunderstorms will be possible on Thursday night and again on
Saturday and Sunday.

High temperatures throughout the long term period to range from the
50s and 60s on Thursday and Friday, climbing into the 60s and 70s
through the weekend.  Otherwise, expect low temperatures in the 40s
and 50s.
