* Flash Flood Warning for...
Central Jasper County in southwestern Missouri...
Northwestern Newton County in southwestern Missouri...
* Until 1045 AM CDT.
* At 841 AM CDT, The Missouri Department of Transportation reported
that Highway 86 south of Joplin is closed due to flooding. Between
1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. Flash flooding is already
occurring.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by earlier thunderstorms.
SOURCE...Department of Transportation reported.
IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
other poor drainage and low-lying areas.
* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Joplin, Carthage, Webb City, Oronogo, Seneca, Carterville,
Duquesne and Duenweg.
This includes the following low water crossings...
North Main and Murphy Boulevard In Joplin, Route D at Center Creek
southeast of Oronogo, Dogwood Road at Center Creek, Route O at The
Spring River just south of Alba and Route CC at Lost Creek just
south of Racine.

...FLASH FLOOD WARNING IS CANCELLED FOR CENTRAL JASPER AND
NORTHWESTERN NEWTON COUNTIES...
Rapid rises due to heavy rainfall are no longer expected. However
water levels will continue to rise in low lying areas near creeks,
streams and low water crossings. Therefore the Flash Flood Warning
has been replaced with a Flood Warning.
A Flash Flood Watch remains in effect until 700 AM CDT Tuesday for
Portions of southeast Kansas. Portions of Missouri.
