Warning for the following rivers in West Virginia...

  Elk River At Clay affecting Kanawha and Clay Counties.

For the Elk River...Moderate flooding is forecast.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive 
cars through flooded areas.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

  the Elk River At Clay.
* Until Tuesday morning.
* At 5:20 AM EST Monday the stage was 17.7 feet.
* Flood stage is 18.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will rise above flood stage early this 
  morning to 21.0 feet this afternoon. It will then fall below flood 
  stage just after midnight tonight to 7.6 feet and begin rising 
  again Wednesday evening. It will rise to 9.9 feet early Friday 
  morning. It will then fall again and remain below flood stage.
* Impact...At 20.0 feet, Homes in the Pisgah section of Clay, and a 
  few homes on the north side of Clay are flooded between 20 and 22 
  feet. Sections of Elkhurst/Elk River Road are flooded.
* Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 21.0 
  feet on 11/19/2003.
