Southeastern Lawrence County in southeastern Ohio...
Central Cabell County in central West Virginia...
North Central Wayne County in western West Virginia...
* Until 815 PM EDT.
* At 506 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1.5 and 2 inches of
rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are
possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected
to begin shortly.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
other poor drainage and low-lying areas.
* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Huntington, Chesapeake, Proctorville, Barboursville, Kenova,
Ceredo, Ona, South Point, Burlington and Pea Ridge.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of streets
around Huntington. The highest threat areas for flooding are the
railroad viaducts at 1st, 8th, 10th, 16th and 20th streets. In
addition, the railroad viaduct at 14th street west may flood.
Flooding may also be occurring along 5th avenue between 24th and
25th streets.

WAYNE COUNTIES...
At 530 PM EDT, local media report every viaduct in Huntington is
flooded. In addition, there is flooding on 5th Avenue, Adams
Avenue, 8th Street, 20th Street, 1st Street and 6th Avenue.
Additional rainfall amounts of 1 inch are possible and this will
only increase the flooding impacts.

flash flooding.
