  Neuse River Near Clayton affecting Johnston County.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is 
harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.

* Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 11.6 feet 
  tomorrow morning. It will then fall below flood stage tomorrow 
  evening.
* Impact...At 9.0 feet, Minor overflow occurs on both banks. Water 
  reaches the edge of the Neuse River Greenway trail.
* Impact...At 10.0 feet, The Neuse River Greenway at Covered Bridge 
  Road begins to flood.

* At 9:15 PM EDT Thursday the stage was 10.6 feet.
* Flood stage is 15.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage early 
  this morning to a crest of 17.8 feet this evening. It will then 
  fall below flood stage tomorrow afternoon.
* Impact...At 15.0 feet, Flooding begins along the Neuse Riverwalk. 
  Water nears the base of the holding tank at the water treatment 
  plant.
* Impact...At 18.0 feet, The Smithfield town park and the Neuse 
  Riverwalk at the US70 bridge are flooded.
* Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 29.1 
  feet on 10/10/2016.
