.SYNOPSIS...
High pressure will remain across the Mid-Atlantic through the
middle of the week. Low pressure developing off the Carolina
coast will slowly move to the northeast through Monday, remaining
away from our area. A weak cold front will cross the region on
Wednesday, lifting northward as a warm front on Thursday. A stronger
cold front will approach the region, crossing the area Friday into
Saturday.
&&
.NEAR TERM /THROUGH MONDAY/...
Through the near term, the low of the coast of the southeastern
U.S. should make some progress further east. Over our region,
elongated, broad high pressure will remain in place from the
TX/LA gulf coast to New England. Consequently we should continue
to see little in the way of impacts for our region with the
exception of mid to high level clouds over the coastal plains
and continued tidal flooding concerns (see the tides/coastal
flood section below for more information on this).
As the low shifts ever so slightly further east, we should see clouds
clear out late tonight. That will mean one more chance for a
widespread frost/freeze, though it doesn't appear likely in
southern DE (the only place in our region where the growing
season continues) which should be one of the last places to see the
clouds clear out. Thus, in southern DE, current forecast is for
temperatures just above frost criteria, so have not issued a
frost advisory at this time, but will watch closely as we go
through the evening.
By Monday, a mid level short wave ridge axis will be the primary
driver in a warm up, with highs getting into the 60s for most
locations (with the exception of the higher terrain of the
southern Poconos and NW NJ.

.SHORT TERM /MONDAY NIGHT THROUGH TUESDAY NIGHT/...
A continuation of fair weather for the short term period as the
upper ridge continues to build over the area. The surface high
crests over the region Tue before slowly weakening. Towards
Wednesday morning, a dry cold front will arrive across the NW areas.
Some extra cloudiness will accompany the front, but no rains are
expected. After cool Monday night, temperatures will go above normal
for Tue (low/mid 60s) and remain milder for Tue night (low/mid 40s).

.LONG TERM /WEDNESDAY THROUGH SUNDAY/...
Wed thru Thu...High pressure across the area with fair weather
expected. Mild temperatures expected with highs in the 60s for
most areas and low mostly in the 40s.
Thu night into Sat...An area of low pressure and associated
fronts arrive across the area. A showery period with pops in the
high chance/low likely for most areas. Above normal temps into
Sat then an cold front brings readings back near normal for
Sunday. Pops lower for Sunday, but plenty of uncertainty in the
forecast for Fri and the weekend.

.AVIATION /20Z SUNDAY THROUGH FRIDAY/...
The following discussion is for KPHL, KPNE, KTTN, KABE, KRDG, KILG,
KMIV, KACY and surrounding areas.
Tonight...VFR conditions expected. Winds should be light
(generally at or below 5 kt) and should mostly favor northerly
or north northeasterly, though direction could be variable at
times. High confidence.
Monday...VFR conditions expected. Winds remaining out of the NNE
or NNW around 5 to 10 kt. Wind speeds at KACY could be a bit
higher around 10 to 15 kt with gusts up to 25 kt possible. High
confidence.
Outlook...
Mon night...VFR, except in patchy pre-dawn fog.
Tue thru Thu...Mostly VFR. Patchy morning fog psbl.
Thu night/Fri. Lower CIGS/VSBYS possible with rains.

.MARINE...
The main change to the Small Craft Advisory was to extend the
portion covering lower Delaware Bay through late tonight. While we
have seen winds on the bay drop below 25 kt over the past two hours,
another surge of winds is possible this evening and elevated wave
heights above 5 ft will be possible through out this period near the
mouth of the bay.
For the Atlantic coastal waters, SCA conditions are expected to
