.SYNOPSIS...
The cold front will shift off shore this morning before stalling
nearby. A wave will move along the front on Thursday, pulling it
away from the region Thursday night. High pressure will build into
the region on Friday, moving offshore over the weekend. Another
frontal system may cross the region Monday or Tuesday.

.NEAR TERM /THROUGH TONIGHT/...
The slow moving upper trough will continue to move across PA today
then NJ tonight. A cold front will push just offshore by around dawn
and then move little today. Several weak low pressure areas will
travel along the front from S to N today. This will keep an
abundance of clouds and showers to the area. A couple tstms are also
possible across Delmarva and ern NJ, but the coverage will not be
that great. Some locally heavy rains are possible but amounts will
perhaps be as high as 1/2 to 2/3 inches for ern NJ and Delmarva.
Highs today will be mostly in the 70s, so a bit below normal. Some
improvement in sky conditions will occur for the nrn/wrn areas
later this afternoon.
.Tonight... The last of the deeper moisture will be across ern NJ
and the coastal waters at sunset and the trend there will be for
steady improvement during the evening. Elsewhere, fair weather which
arrives during the late afternoon and evening will continue
overnight. Decreasing clouds, but areas of fog developing with
residual moisture from the rains for Wed night and Thu still across
the area. Seasonably cool temps expected with low dropping to the
low/mid 50s for the N/W areas and upper 50s/low 60s for the urban
regions and Delmarva. Winds will be mostly N to NW around 5 mph.

.SHORT TERM /FRIDAY THROUGH SATURDAY NIGHT/...
High pressure starts to build in from the west for Friday
before moving overhead on Saturday. With the high dominating the
region, we should remain dry with below to slightly below
normal temperatures.
Daytime highs will be in the low to mid 70s on Friday with slight
increases into the mid to upper 70s on Saturday. Areas across the
southern Poconos will be even cooler with highs topping out in the
60s both days.
Overnight lows Friday night will be cool with light winds and clear
skies across the region. Temperatures will dip down into the 50s,
with some 40s possible across the southern Poconos. The air mass
should modify some for Saturday night and overnight lows will be in
the upper 50s to lower 60s.

.LONG TERM /SUNDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY/...
Given the ongoing weather Wednesday night, made few changes to the
long term forecast. Quiet weather will continue through Sunday
as the high shifts further offshore. With a return flow around
the high, we should see additional warming and high temperatures
will rise back into the lower 80s through much of the forecast
area. Some slight increase in cloud cover may occur overnight
but we should still radiate fairly well. The southwest flow will
keep overnight temperatures warmer and mainly in the 60s.
As we head towards Monday, we start to see some differences in the
guidance. What we see consistently on the guidance is a cold front
approaching the region from the west but the timing and strength of
the front differs, leaving us with an unsettled forecast. The
boundary may start to move in to our area Monday with the potential
for some showers or thunderstorms across our northernmost zones. The
boundary may stall over or near the area and with several shortwaves
crossing the region there will be the potential for showers and
thunderstorms to continue through midweek. Best chances at this time
still appear to be across our northern and western areas so we
continue to keep POPs in those areas. Strong southwest flow at 850mb
will bring in much warmer air and daytime temps should have no
problem rising into the mid to upper 80s through the midweek period.

.AVIATION /09Z THURSDAY THROUGH MONDAY/...
The following discussion is for KPHL, KPNE, KTTN, KABE, KRDG, KILG,
KMIV, KACY and surrounding areas.
.Today...Widespread IFR/low end MVFR for most areas improving from
NW to SE thru the afternoon. Frequent rains showers and low CIGS.
Patchy fog expected too. Mostly NW to N winds 5 to 10 knots. Medium
confid.
.Tonight...VFR expected. Low level moisture will probably result in
some fog development, but not confid enough yet for 06Z TAFS, we'll
likely include the mention of some for the 12Z tafs however. Most
likely for the rural locations. Light winds.
Outlook...
Friday...VFR with northwesterly winds from 10 to 15 knots and gusts
to 20 knots with a few gusts to 25 knots possible. High confidence.
Saturday through Sunday...Mainly VFR. Southwest winds 5 to 10
kt, with a few gusts 15 to 20 knots mainly on Sunday. High
confidence.
Monday...Mainly VFR. Slight chance for showers near KABE during the
afternoon/evening. Westerly winds 5 to 10 knots. Moderate confidence.

.MARINE...
A showery day on the waters with a slow moving front and several
weak waves of low pressure. Overall, winds will be below SCA
conditions, but strong and powerful long period swells from Larry
will impact the waters. A SCA flag will fly today and tonight for
this. Occasional showers and patchy fog expected.
Outlook...
Friday through Saturday...Seas will remain between 4 and
8 feet through Friday night, gradually subsiding on Saturday and
falling below 5 feet Saturday afternoon. The small craft advisory
will likely be needed through Saturday for the ocean waters.
Saturday night through Monday...Mainly sub-SCA conditions
expected. Southwest winds may approach advisory thresholds on
Sunday. Seas will mainly stay between 3 to 4 feet but may approach 5
feet on the outer waters on Sunday.
Rip Currents...
HIGH risk of dangerous rip currents expected today and into Friday
as well. The powerful long period swells from Hurricane Larry are
affecting much of the East Coast and these conditions will continue
for several more days.

southeastern Cumberland, south central Ocean, northern Cape May and
southeastern Burlington Counties through 345 AM EDT...
At 314 AM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Corbin City, or 7 miles west of Ocean City, moving northeast at 55
mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and half inch hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is
possible.
