.SYNOPSIS...
Tropical Depression Henri will remain across southern New
England through Monday, before shifting offshore Monday night
into Tuesday morning. A surface trough will likely develop
across the northeast and Mid Atlantic states Tuesday and remain
near the area through Thursday. A cold front is forecast to move
across the area Thursday night into Friday and stall near the
Mid Atlantic region over the weekend.

&&

.NEAR TERM /UNTIL 6 AM MONDAY MORNING/...
Tropical Depression Henri lies over eastern Connecticut and
will become a Tropical Depression as it retrogrades back towards
western Connecticut, southeast new York, and western
Massachusetts tonight.

Will cancel portions of the Flood Watch for northern Delaware
and southern New Jersey, as the heaviest rain will stay across
northern New Jersey and down into southeast Pennsylvania.

Bands of heavy rain will pass through the northern half of the
forecast area tonight. Flood threat tonight should become
focused mainly over NE PA into northern NJ where the heaviest
additional rain amounts are expected.

Going into tonight, Henri will continue to weaken while being
pulled W/NW due to the circulation around the upper low. This
will result in bands of heavier rain pivoting back into the
region merging with the rain band discussed above. Heaviest rain
tonight should be north of the I-78 corridor where another 2-4+
inches is expected but there will still be more rain farther
south as the precip wraps around by later tonight...likely even
getting back down into SE PA into southern NJ. With all the
tropical moisture it will be a muggy night with lows mostly in
the upper 60s to low 70s.

.SHORT TERM /6 AM MONDAY MORNING THROUGH MONDAY NIGHT/...
Monday...Henri or its remnants will continue to slowly drift
over eastern NY State into New England. By this time the storm
looks to actually have absorbed the upper level low initially to
our south. Moisture will continue to wrap around the
circulation into the mid Atlantic as it gradually rains itself
out. This will lead to continuing rain/showers with embedded
storms in the area, generally heaviest and most widespread over
eastern PA into central and northern NJ. Generally rain rates
should be less than tonight but given that PWATs will still be
close to 2 inches embedded heavy downpours will still be
possible that could keep hydro issues going in places. The
system finally pulls away Monday night with precip ending and
skies clearing. It remains muggy through the period with highs
Monday mostly in the low to mid 80s and lows Monday night mainly
in the upper 60s to low 70s once again.

.LONG TERM /TUESDAY THROUGH SUNDAY/...
The initial concern with the long term period continues to be
the return of hot and humid conditions for the middle of the
week for Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, and possibly into
Friday. A thermal/lee-side trough is forecast to develop on
Tuesday and remain in place through Thursday. Meanwhile, a mid-
level trough will flatten out Tuesday, with nearly zonal flow
across the area Wednesday and Thursday as ridging builds to our
south. This will allow thicknesses to build for the middle to
end of the week. Temperatures are forecast to reach the upper
80s-low 90s for many areas, and with the increase in humidity,
it is possible some areas may approach Heat Advisory criteria.
While organized rainfall and thunderstorms are not expected,
there will be a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms for
Tuesday and Wednesday. However, as we move into Thursday, a
stronger short wave/vorticity impulse may affect the area ahead
of the approaching cold front and could interact with the
surface trough in place and lead to a higher chance of showers.

A cold front is forecast to move across the Mid Atlantic region
Thursday night into Friday, before stalling near or just south
of our area over the weekend. Friday is expected to be the last
day of the hot and humid conditions for next week, before
slightly cooler and slightly less humid conditions return for
the weekend. Due to the proximity of the frontal boundary and
several potential short wave/vorticity impulses, there will
remain a chance of showers and thunderstorms through the
weekend.

.AVIATION /02Z MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY/...
The following discussion is for KPHL, KPNE, KTTN, KABE, KRDG,
KILG, KMIV, KACY and surrounding areas.

The following discussion is for KPHL, KPNE, KTTN, KABE, KRDG,
KILG, KMIV, KACY and surrounding areas.

Tonight...Periods of heavy rain will result in sub-VFR
conditions at KRDG/KABE/KTTN, and then spreading south into
KPNE/KPHL. For KILG/KMIV/KACY, although some rain is possible,
conditions should mostly be VFR. Cannot rule out a thunderstorm,
but confidence too low to include in the TAF. Winds LGT/VRB.
Moderate confidence.

Monday...MVFR/IFR conditions will continue through the morning
hours as the steady rainfall becomes more showery in nature by
late morning. Conditions may improve to VFR as showers begin to
taper off through the afternoon. There will remain a slight
chance of thunderstorms, but are not included in the TAF due to
low confidence. Winds will be mostly southwest 5-10 knots, with
an occasional gust around 15 knots. Moderate confidence.

Monday night...VFR conditions are expected. West to northwest
winds 5 knots or less.

Outlook...

Tuesday-Tuesday night...Generally VFR conditions. Localized
patchy fog at night. Winds will vary between southwest to
northwest 5-10 knots during the day, then become light and
variable overnight.

Wednesday-Wednesday night...Generally VFR conditions. Localized
patchy fog at night. Winds will vary between south to southwest
5-10 knots during the day, then become light and variable
overnight.

Thursday-Thursday night...Generally VFR conditions. A chance of
isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms which could
temporarily lead to lower conditions. Localized patchy fog at
night. Winds will vary between south to southwest 5-10 knots
during the day, then become light and variable overnight.

Friday-Friday night...Generally VFR conditions. A chance of
isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms which could
temporarily lead to lower conditions. Localized patchy fog at
night. Winds will vary between west to northwest 5-10 knots
during the day, then become northeast and light and variable
overnight.

.MARINE...
Winds and seas have subsided below SCA levels. Will go ahead and
cancel the SCA for northern New Jersey ocean waters.

For Monday, it is possible seas could approach 5 feet again by
late in the day due to a persistent southerly fetch but
otherwise conditions should be sub-SCA.

Outlook...

Tuesday-Friday...Conditions are expected to remain below Small
Craft Advisory levels through the period.

Rip Currents...

Although Tropical Depression Henri will remain north of the
waters, the New Jersey waters will remain rough on Monday, and
the HIGH risk for the development of dangerous rip currents will
continue.

For the Delaware waters, there is a MODERATE risk for the
development of dangerous and life threatening rip currents on
Monday.

On Tuesday, there is a MODERATE risk for dangerous rip currents
at New Jersey beaches and a LOW risk for dangerous rip currents
at Delaware beaches.

.HYDROLOGY...
Going into tonight, additional bands of moderate to heavy rain
are expected to wrap back in from the north around a weakening
Henri with the heaviest targeting mainly areas north of the I-78
corridor where 2 to 4+ inches is likely. However the areas to
the north where the flooding either occurred or is occurring are
still likely to get another 1 to 2 inches of rain which may
only exacerbate issues there. Bands of moderate to heavy may
even wrap back into SE PA at times tonight. In addition, there
has been some pop up convection over SE PA and Delmarva that has
produced locally heavy rain. For these reasons, no changes to
the Flood Watch at this time. However, the greatest threat for
additional hydro issues will be central and northern NJ into NE
PA.

.TIDES/COASTAL FLOODING...
Some spotty minor coastal flooding is possible across portions
of the Atlantic coastline with this evening's high tide,
especially for the Cape May County area where more widespread
minor flooding is probable. We have issued a Coastal Flood
Advisory for this evening's high tide to highlight this threat.
No additional coastal flooding issues are anticipated beyond
tonight's high tide.
