...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 400 PM EDT
FOR HARRISON...SOUTHWESTERN JEFFERSON AND NORTH CENTRAL BELMONT
COUNTIES...

At 345 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Cadiz, moving
northeast at 35 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Expect damage to trees and power lines, resulting in some 
         power outages.

Locations impacted include...
Cadiz, Hopedale, Flushing, Scio, Adena, Jewett, Belmont, New Athens,
Harrisville, Newell, Deersville, and Barkcamp State Park.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1000 PM EDT for east central
Ohio.

A tornado watch remains in effect for the warned area. Tornadoes can
develop quickly from severe thunderstorms. Although a tornado is not
immediately likely, if one is spotted act quickly and move to a place
of safety inside a sturdy structure, such as a basement or small
interior room.

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

The storm which prompted the warning has weakened below severe
limits, and no longer poses an immediate threat to life or property.
Therefore, the warning will be allowed to expire.  However, gusty 
winds are still possible with this thunderstorm.

.SYNOPSIS...
A line of thunderstorms is likely this afternoon, some of which could
be strong to severe with the passage of a cold front. Cool,
comfortable conditions is likely to prevail starting tomorrow.

&&

.NEAR TERM /THROUGH TONIGHT/...
A jet streak and coincidental sfc frontogenesis will be responsible
for ascent this afternoon and evening. Given the support lended by
the jet streak, shear is expected to increase throughout the day, to
30-40kts. This, in tandem with 500-1000j/kg CAPE will contribute to
the chance for severe storms to develop and organize. Given the
CAPE/shear balance, BRN looks to exceed 500-1000 so a supercell
structure that merges and becomes a multi- cellular line looks
probable. The biggest threat is damaging wind, but isolated tornadoes
could happen in any discrete cells that rotate and move more
easterly than the mean flow. Flooding is not anticipated given the
progressive nature of storms, but nuisance areas could see localized
impacts.

Cold frontal passage will occur overnight, and the chance for rain
will gradually come to an end from southwest to northeast.
Temperature and dewpoints will return to a comfortable autumnal
value.

.SHORT TERM /THURSDAY THROUGH THURSDAY NIGHT/...
By early morning Thursday, subsidence and dry advection will have put
an end to widespread rain chance. Isolated rain showers are possible
Thursday afternoon due to vorticity advection. In the wake of the
cold front, Thursday high temperatures will likely stay several
degrees below normal.

.LONG TERM /FRIDAY THROUGH TUESDAY/...
Long range ensembles indicate that high pressure early this weekend
will be followed by a cold frontal passage later in the weekend which
will result in precip chance. Temperature should remain seasonable
for the long term.

.AVIATION /17Z WEDNESDAY THROUGH SUNDAY/...
VFR prevails at most sites this early-afternoon as the area remains
in a dry slot ahead of an approaching low pressure system and
associated cold front. Degradation is expected later this afternoon
as showers and thunderstorms along/near the front move through
forecast terminals, most likely in the range from 21z to 01z, and
perhaps a couple hours earlier for ZZV. Included TEMPO mention in the
TAF package for most likely timing of the thunderstorms.

Wind will shift to SW/WSW behind the cold front and cigs are
expected to improve back to MVFR heights through the overnight.

.Outlook...
Restrictions are likely to lift Thursday with subsidence and dry
advection.
