.SYNOPSIS...
High pressure and warm, dry weather will remain in place through
Tuesday, with the chance for rain and storms returning on Wednesday.

.NEAR TERM /THROUGH TONIGHT/...
Mesoanalysis output indicates that the shortwave trough responsible
for thick clouds and moisture this morning in the mid-low levels is
being broken down by large scale ridging in the Midwest. As the day
progresses, the influence of high pressure will gradually warm, and
dry the boundary layer, and sunshine will become more prevalent
through the afternoon and evening.

Despite cold advection aloft, a clearing sky will ensure near
freezing temperature overnight. With wind expected to remain
somewhat elevated, and dewpoint depressions generally 3 degrees or
more, widespread frost does not appear to be likely. Confidence in
leaving out widespread frost mention is boosted when considering
mid- upper level moisture probability with aforementioned cold
advection aloft.

.SHORT TERM /MONDAY THROUGH TUESDAY/...
The aforementioned high amplitude ridge will be in place for Monday,
with sunny skies likely most of the day. As the ridge axis
propagates eastward, wind will shift from nwly to swly, and result in
prompt warm advection. This ridge is expected to remain in place,
resulting in broad and strong high pressure over the ese CONUS
through Tuesday. Temperature warmer than 10 degrees above the
climatological norm is likely.

.LONG TERM /TUESDAY NIGHT THROUGH SATURDAY/...
Warm and moist advection is likely to continue through Wednesday, as
cyclogenesis occurs and strengthens a deep sw CONUS trough upstream
of the Ohio Valley. This environment, if it occurs coincident to a
frontal passage courtesy of low pressure near Hudson Bay, would
provide instability in tandem with frontogenesis and large scale
support for ascent, which would increase the likelihood for rain and
thunderstorms. Temperature should moderate to near normal late in the
week.

.AVIATION /16Z SUNDAY THROUGH THURSDAY/...
Broken VFR cumulus/stratocumulus will linger through the afternoon
in a cold advection pattern behind a crossing cold front.  Increased
mixing and a tightening pressure gradient are expected to lead to
wind gusts out of the northwest around 20 knots this afternoon,
before diminishing this evening.

Approaching high pressure will keep VFR conditions in the forecast
through Monday with a mostly clear sky, save for a period of mid
clouds overnight due to a passing shortwave. Lighter wind is
forecast for Monday.

VFR is expected until a mid to late week low pressure system
introduces restrictions and potential thunderstorms.
