The National Weather Service in Norman has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  East Central Canadian County in central Oklahoma...
  Western Oklahoma County in central Oklahoma...

* Until 630 AM CDT.

* At 326 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing 
  heavy rain across the warned area. Between 3 and 4 inches of rain 
  have fallen since Saturday morning. Flash flooding is ongoing or 
  expected to begin shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Doppler radar.

  IMPACT...Flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
           highways, streets and underpasses as well as other
           drainage and low lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Oklahoma City, western Edmond, Midwest City, Del City, Yukon, 
  Bethany, Warr Acres, The Village, Spencer, Nichols Hills, Tinker 
  Air Force Base, Forest Park, Woodlawn Park, Lake Aluma, Smith 
  Village, The Capitol, The Fairgrounds, Wiley Post Airport and 
  Downtown Edmond.

This includes the following highways...
	Interstate 35 between mile markers 126 and 143.
	Interstate 44 between mile markers 119 and 138.
	Interstate 40 between mile markers 136 and 157...and
	near mile marker 159.

Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches is expected in the 
warned area.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the 
dangers of flooding.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small 
creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses 
as well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.

A Flash Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring. 
If you are in the warned area move to higher ground immediately. 
Residents living along streams and creeks should take immediate 
precautions to protect life and property.
