Warning for the following rivers in Washington...

  Similkameen River near Nighthawk affecting Okanogan County.

For the SIMILKAMEEN RIVER...including Nighthawk...Minor flooding is 
forecast.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive 
cars through flooded areas.

Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.

The next statement will be issued late tonight at 1230 AM PST.

* IMPACTS...At 14.3 feet, Water may begin to come over 
  Loomis-Oroville road on the south end of Palmer Lake.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 11:30 AM PST Tuesday the stage was 14.2 feet.
  - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
    ending at 11:30 AM PST Tuesday was 14.2 feet.
  - Forecast...The river will rise to 14.4 feet late this
    afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage late this
    evening to 7.2 feet and begin rising again late Friday
    morning. It will rise to 7.3 feet Friday afternoon. It will
    then fall again and remain below flood stage.
  - Flood stage is 14.0 feet.

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Similkameen River near Nighthawk.

* WHEN...Until late Wednesday morning.

* IMPACTS...At 13.0 feet, The Similkameen River will begin to back 
  up into Palmer Lake and water will be a few inches deep over 
  Chopaka Road. Low-lying pastures and agricultural land around 
  Chopaka and Allemandi Roads will be flooded. Water will begin to 
  encroach on farm land just downstream of the Nighthawk bridge.
  At 14.3 feet, Water may begin to come over Loomis-Oroville road on 
  the south end of Palmer Lake.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 5:30 PM PST Tuesday the stage was 14.3 feet.
  - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
    ending at 5:30 PM PST Tuesday was 14.4 feet.
  - Forecast...The river has crested and is expected to fall
    below flood stage early Wednesday morning and continue to
    recede to 10.0 feet Wednesday evening.
  - Flood stage is 14.0 feet.
  - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of

...FLOOD WARNING NOW IN EFFECT FROM THIS EVENING THROUGH THURSDAY 
AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Okanogan River near Tonasket.

* WHEN...Until early Thursday afternoon.

* IMPACTS...At 15.0 feet, Minor flooding of low-lying areas is 
  likely between Oroville and Tonasket.
  At 16.0 feet, Pasture land between Rodeo Track Road and Benton 
  Street, on the east side of the river near Omak, will begin to 
  flood.
  At 17.0 feet, Low lying fields and pasture land in the flood plain 
  along the Okanogan river valley, from Oroville to Okanogan, will 
  be flooded. Some homes near the river in Okanogan may experience 
  some basement flooding from seepage. Water will be between the 
  railroad and Highway 97 near Cordell, south of Oroville. Water 
  will be against the shoulder of Omak River Road across from 
  Wanacut Creek.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 6:15 PM PST Tuesday the stage was 14.2 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
    overnight to a crest of 16.5 feet late Wednesday morning. It
    will then fall below flood stage early Thursday morning.
  - Flood stage is 15.0 feet.
  - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
    16.5 feet on 05/28/1938.
