the waterfront and shoreline, including roads, parking lots,

waterfront. Numerous road closures are likely, and vehicles
parked in vulnerable areas near the waterfront will likely
become flooded. Flooding will also extend inland from the
waterfront along tidal rivers and bays.
* COASTAL FLOOD IMPACTS...Possible widespread MODERATE FLOODING
of vulnerable areas near the waterfront and shoreline tonight.
* SHORELINE IMPACTS...Large breaking waves of 5 to 10 ft for
multiple tidal cycles will result in significant beach erosion
and flooding, with areas of dune erosion likely. Localized
washovers are possible resulting in some flooding of roadways
and vulnerable structures behind protective dunes.

* SHORELINE IMPACTS...Along the oceanfront, large breaking waves
of 5 to 10 ft for through the early Tuesday morning high tide
cycle will result in significant beach erosion and flooding,
with areas of dune erosion likely. Localized washovers are
possible resulting in some flooding of roadways and vulnerable
structures behind protective dunes. Along the shorefront of
Long Island Sound and Gardiners Bay, breaking waves of 4 to 6
ft will likely cause localized beach erosion, wave splash over
seawalls and bulkheads, and possible minor damage to shoreline
structures.

near the waterfront and shoreline. For the Coastal Flood
Watch, one to two feet of inundation above ground level
possible in vulnerable areas near the waterfront and shoreline.
* WHERE...Southern Nassau County.
* WHEN...For the Coastal Flood Warning, until 4 PM EST this
afternoon. For the Coastal Flood Watch, from 11 PM EST this
evening through late tonight.
* IMPACTS...Widespread flooding of vulnerable areas is expected
near the waterfront and shoreline, including roads, parking
lots, parks, lawns, and homes and businesses with basements
near the waterfront. Numerous road closures are likely, and
vehicles parked in vulnerable areas near the waterfront will
likely become flooded. Flooding will also extend inland from
the waterfront along tidal rivers and bays. Minor flooding is
expected in the more vulnerable locations near the waterfront
and shoreline. Some roads and low lying properties including
parking lots, parks, lawns, and homes and businesses with
basements near the waterfront will experience minor flooding.
* COASTAL FLOOD IMPACTS...Possible widespread MODERATE FLOODING
of vulnerable areas near the waterfront and shoreline tonight.
* SHORELINE IMPACTS...Large breaking waves of 5 to 10 ft through
the Tue night high tidal cycles will result in significant
beach erosion and flooding, with areas of dune erosion likely.
Localized washovers are possible resulting in some flooding of
roadways and vulnerable structures behind protective dunes.

EST WEDNESDAY...
* WHAT...Up to one foot of inundation above ground level
expected in vulnerable areas near the waterfront and shoreline.
* WHERE...Northeastern Suffolk and Southeastern Suffolk Counties.
* WHEN...From midnight tonight to 6 AM EST Wednesday.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding is expected in the more vulnerable
locations near the waterfront and shoreline. Some roads and
low lying properties including parking lots, parks, lawns, and
homes and businesses with basements near the waterfront will
experience minor flooding.
* SHORELINE IMPACTS...Large breaking waves of 5 to 10 ft through
tonight high tidal cycles will result in significant
beach erosion and flooding, with areas of dune erosion likely
for the ocean shorelines. Localized washovers are possible
resulting in some flooding of roadways and vulnerable
structures behind protective dunes.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

...COASTAL FLOOD ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT FROM MIDNIGHT TONIGHT TO
5 AM EST WEDNESDAY...
* WHAT...Up to one foot of inundation above ground level expected
in vulnerable areas near the waterfront and shoreline.
* WHERE...Southern Fairfield County CT and Southwestern Suffolk
County NY.
* WHEN...From midnight tonight to 5 AM EST Wednesday.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding is expected in the more vulnerable
locations near the waterfront and shoreline. Some roads and
low lying properties including parking lots, parks, lawns, and
homes and businesses with basements near the waterfront will
experience minor flooding.
* SHORELINE IMPACTS...Large breaking waves of 5 to 10 ft through
tonight high tidal cycles will result in significant
beach erosion and flooding, with areas of dune erosion likely
along the ocean shorelines. Localized washovers are possible
resulting in some flooding of roadways and vulnerable
structures behind protective dunes.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
If travel is required, allow extra time as some roads may be
closed. Do not drive around barricades or through water of
unknown depth. Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone
property.
