.SYNOPSIS...High pressure persists over the region which will warm
temperatures and bring periods of offshore winds. Despite
unsettled weather to our north, dry weather should prevail across
our area through the next week. Expect above normal temperatures
initially, before a slight cooling brings temperatures closer to
normal around midweek and Thanksgiving. May see a bit of morning frost
in some valleys midweek.

.DISCUSSION...as of 09:05 PM PST Sunday...The clear afternoon has
lead into a clear night with interior North Bay temperatures
already dipping into the 40s while more southern counties like
Monterey are slower to cool. The clear and dry conditions will
make for another cool night with temperatures ranging from the 50s
along the coast to the 30s in more interior areas. Winds will be
lighter than last night but there may be a few breezy spots.
There isn't much to update from the previous discussion below. Near
term concerns remain with the post-frontal increase in offshore
winds for Tuesday night, but still look to be weaker than last
night's winds. The longer term models still toy with rain chances
returning at the start of December. Unfortunately, the last few
updates have been fairly inconsistent and have not inspired too much
confidence in these chances. Much can change between now and then,
make sure to keep checking in!

.PREV DISCUSSION...as of 02:06 PM PST Sunday...Wall to wall sunshine
blankets the Bay Area this afternoon thanks to high pressure
overhead and offshore flow at the surface. The offshore gradient
(SFO-WMC) has waned over the last six hours. Despite the weaker
gradient it is still breezy in the hills with gusts up to 30 mph.
Temperatures are rebounding after a chilly start with afternoon
temps topping out in the 60s to mid 70s.
Tonight and Monday: Very little change is expected with the
sensible weather. High pressure will remain over the region
keeping dry conditions in place. The offshore flow will continue
to weaken with decreasing winds in the hills. It will be a cool
night across the inland valleys with lows in the 40s, sheltered
spots into the upper 30s. Hills and closer to the coast will be in
the 40s to lower 50s. Monday will feature another sunny day with
mild temperatures.
Tuesday: Earlier model runs showed a remote chance for precip, but
latest guidance keeps the storm track to the north. Synoptically
speaking, the ridge flattens as a trough of low pressure moves
through farther north. A weak dry surface boundary moves through
NorCal. The passing boundary will bring cooler temperatures on
Tuesday. Behind the boundary another burst of offshore flow will
be possible Tuesday night. The offshore setup doesn't look as
strong as the current offshore flow, but breezy conditions in the
higher terrain will be possible through early Wednesday.
Wednesday into the weekend: High pressure builds over the region
again keeping dry conditions in place with the storm track
remaining to the north. As noted on the previous discussion
overnight lows will be chilly, especially S Salinas Valley, where
some patchy frost will be possible. Afternoon temperatures will be
close to or above normal making for a pleasant Thanksgiving
holiday.
Longer range models continue to ebb and flow regarding the next
chance of rain for the region. The pattern looks to become more
active across the Pacific toward the end of the month/early
