.SYNOPSIS...
High pressure will continue offshore through Tuesday as low pressure
passes well to the northwest. A cold front will approach from the
west Wednesday and cross Wednesday night. A low pressure system will
affect the region late in the week with cooler weather through next
weekend.

.NEAR TERM /UNTIL 6 AM MONDAY MORNING/...
As of 930 PM Sun...No changes planned. Mainly dry conditions
and very mild with SW flow. As moisture begins to increase late
may see some isold shra develop inland prior to daybreak.

Prev disc...High pressure will remain offshore tonight as an
upper level trough approaches from the Deep South. High and mid
level clouds will likely increase through the night as the
trough moves closer (also aided by blow off from convection well
to the west). With conditions mostly cloudy, and a light
southerly breeze persisting, lows will be mild, and remain in
the 60s. In addition, dewpoints will be steadily on the rise all
night, so a few showers may creep into the swrn zones prior to
sunrise.

.SHORT TERM /6 AM MONDAY MORNING THROUGH 6 PM MONDAY/...
As of 330 PM Sun...Instability will rapidly increase through the
morning hours as H50 shortwave embedded in cyclonic flow around
larger shortwave over the OH Valley. Showers/thunderstorms will
begin as early as sunrise, spreading north and east through the
morning. SPC has upgraded to a marginal risk for all of ENC.
Sfc based CAPE vals aoa 1000 J/KG combined with 40+ kt of
effective shear will yield a threat for iso damaging wind gusts
and large hail with any organized storms. Activity will tend to
decrease by mid afternoon as said shortwave lifts away, and
broad swrly flow dominates with warm and humid conditions in the
afternoon. Highs will be in the 80s interior with 70s beaches.

.LONG TERM /MONDAY NIGHT THROUGH SUNDAY/...
As of 330 AM Sun...Active weather pattern through the week with
a few shortwaves, cold frontal passage Wednesday, and a
developing Low Friday impacting the area bringing periods of
rain and multiple rounds of tstorms. Although there are some wet
periods in the week, not much relief from the dry conditions
we've been experiencing.

Tuesday...Hottest day in the period with dry conditions underneath
subtle upper level ridging and zonal flow in the mid levels. Highs
in the low 90s inland and upper 80s along the southern coast.
Overnight lows in the low 70s.

Wednesday...Cold front draping down from a low to our north
crosses the area bringing chances of rain and slight chance of
tstorms again in the afternoon. Temps remain warm ahead of the
front with highs in the upper 80s.

Through the end of the week...Guidance suggests a low
developing along the front, upping rain chances through the end
of the week. Temps cool off behind the front with highs in the
mid to upper 70s Thur. Still a good spread of model solutions in
regards to the development of the Low. GFS and Canadian models
still show a quicker development of the low to our south Thurs and
passing over the OBX as a substantially deep closed low early
Friday morning. The Euro keeps the Low weaker and delayed in its
progression northward, but it has trended closer to the shore
from previous model runs. Regardless of exact location and
depth of the low, rain chances increase again to end the week
before drying out for the weekend.

Short Term /Through Monday/...
As of 630 PM Sun...VFR conditions will continue overnight with
mainly sct to bkn mid to high clouds. Twrd daybreak some deeper
moisture will begin to spread in and some lower cigs will be
poss. Best potential for MVFR with sct to numerous shra and few
tsra will be mid morn thru early aftn as short wave passes well
to the NW. For now show pd of MVFR for all but EWN. Bulk of mdls
show convection becoming more wdly sct with increasing cigs
during the aftn. SW winds may gust to near 20 kts late tomm morn
thru the aftn.

Long Term /Mon night through Wednesday/...
As of 345 Sun...Mainly VFR through the period. Chance for rain
and a few storms with cold front cold front approaching
Wednesday. Brief window with possibility of development of
patchy fog Tuesday morn depending on precip amounts from
Monday.

Short Term /Through Mon/...
As of 930 PM Sun...SW winds 10-20 kt this evening will diminish
to 10-15 kt overnight into Mon morning, with seas remaining 2-4
ft. Winds inc slightly again later Mon afternoon to 10-20 kt
once again, but should remain below SCA levels.

Long Term /Mon night through Wednesday/...
As of 345 AM Sun...Unsettled pattern through most of the week
make conditions less than ideal. Multiple periods of SCA for
coastal waters and the Pamlico Sound likely. S/SW winds ramp up
across the area Monday night with gusts up to 25kts. Seas
briefly increase after the winds overnight Monday. Tuesday,
winds are more consistent with gusts up to 25kts with a duration
long enough to build seas more efficiently. Cold front
approaches Wednesday bringing increased wind speeds and gusts of
25 to 30 kts in the afternoon and chances of rain and tstorms.
Winds turn Werly overnight Wed, and slightly calm to 10 to 15kts
out of the North by Thursday morning.
