The National Weather Service in Sterling Virginia has issued a

* Tornado Warning for...
  South central Albemarle County in central Virginia...

* Until 1100 PM EDT.
    
* At 1028 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a
  tornado was located 8 miles northeast of Schuyler, or 12 miles
  southwest of Charlottesville, moving north at 20 mph.

  HAZARD...Tornado.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation.

  IMPACT...For those in the direct path of a tornado touchdown, 
           flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without 
           shelter. Damage to roofs, siding, and windows may occur. 
           Mobile homes may be damaged or destroyed. Tree damage is 
           likely.

* This tornadic thunderstorm will remain over mainly rural areas of
  south central Albemarle County, including the following
  locations... Esmont, Glendower, Keene, Overton, Alberene and North
  Garden.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

TAKE COVER NOW! Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest
floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a

CENTRAL ALBEMARLE COUNTY...
    
At 1039 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado
was located 10 miles southwest of Charlottesville, moving north at 20
mph.

HAZARD...Tornado.

SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation.

IMPACT...For those in the direct path of a tornado touchdown, flying 
         debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. 
         Damage to roofs, siding, and windows may occur. Mobile 
         homes may be damaged or destroyed. Tree damage is likely.

Locations impacted include...
Alberene and Keene.

CANCELLED...
                
The storm which prompted the warning has weakened below severe
limits, and no longer appears capable of producing a tornado.
Therefore, the warning has been cancelled.  However gusty winds are
still possible with this thunderstorm.

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 300 AM EDT for central
Virginia.
