afternoon and continue rising to a crest of 23.9 feet just after
midnight tonight. It will then rise to 24.5 feet early Wednesday
afternoon. Additional rises are possible thereafter.
* Impact...At 24.0 feet, Minor lowland flooding will occur.

* Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending
at 9:45 AM CST Saturday was 12.1 feet.
* Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 12.5 feet
tomorrow evening. It will then fall below flood stage Wednesday
evening.
* Impact...At 12.0 feet, When the river is rising and the gauge
reading is forecast to reach 12 feet or higher. Roads upstream
from Glenmora, including Strothers Crossing Road near the
community of Calcasieu and Price Crossing Road near Hineston have
water on them and are subject to being closed. Also, flooding of
forested areas near the river will occur.

.DISCUSSION...
Wx map shows warm and humid airmass over the region, with
temperatures still in the upper 60s to near 70 at this hour, and
dewpoints not far behind. Available guidance and persistence
shows areas of dense fog likely to expand across the coastal
waters overnight, thus leaving the dense fog advisory for all
lakes/bays and coastal waters out 60nm. Areas of dense fog may
penetrate somewhat inland just beyond the immediate coast, but the
latest guidance holds the winds up around 10-15 mph here, as well
as around 5-10 mph further inland until diminishing briefly
around daybreak. Thus, not extending the dense fog advisory for
the coastal zones at this time. Overnight lows not expected to
fall lower than the lower to mid 60s, with near 60 across the
coast due to the cooler shelf waters.

AVIATION...
SCT to BKN CU deck continues to stream in off of the Gulf, though
most terminals remained with VFR CIGS this afternoon. Visible
satellite showing some additional cloud cover building in as the
sun sets, as well as sea fog lurking along the shore. Overall
pattern remains very similar to the last couple of nights with the
region located south of a stationary boundary, resulting in very
moist air continuing to overspread the region. Lack of upper level
energy and forcing should result in little to no precip overnight
into tomorrow, but a gradual lowering of CIGS/VIS is once again
expected. Guidance once again split on how far inland and how
quickly sea fog penetrates, but a little better confidence than
last night. Still, opted not to tank VIS too far until trends
begin to manifest. Regardless, CIGS expected to drop into MVFR and
then IFR, with periods of LIFR possible prior to daybreak.
Conditions begin improving by mid-morning. Airmass looks to remain
fairly saturated between ~2-4kft through the day, but with some
mixing, should end up with a mix of BKN/OVC MFVR/VFR CIGS.

PREV DISCUSSION... /issued 314 PM CST Fri Feb 26 2021/
DISCUSSION...High pressure is centered near the mid Atlantic
coast this afternoon with a frontal boundary stalled from South
Texas through central Mississippi and Alabama. The local area
remains south of the front with a flow off the gulf. A warm and
moist air mass continues to be pushed across the cooler gulf shelf
waters between the front and ridge keeping areas of fog over the
coastal waters through most of the day. Visibility's are expected
to fall again this evening across the coastal waters and perhaps
inland as well as the fog advects onshore. Well inland and closer
to the front that is stalled across the lakes region and Cen LA a
little more mixing may keep the vis higher.
Also tonight and into Saturday the front will begin to lift back
north as low pressure develops in the central plains. Another warm
day with only a slim chance of a shower well inland is expected.
Sunday the plains low will eject out swinging a cold front to the
coast by Sunday night or early Monday. The front will slowly sink
into the gulf Monday while an upper level disturbance moves
through. A dreary and cooler Monday and perhaps Tuesday can be
expected.
Temperatures will be around normal for the date during the middle
of the week with a gradual warming trend thereafter.
MARINE...Sea fog will be the main concern through the weekend as
a warm and moist air mass moves across the cooler shelf waters. A
cold front will move across the coast early Monday decreasing the
chances for fog.
