...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Indiana...
Illinois...

  Youngs Creek, Buck Creek, East Fork White River, Mississinewa 
  River, Wabash River, Eel River.

.Rainfall Wednesday night through late Thursday evening has totaled 
1 to 2 inches across much of central Indiana, based on radar 
estimates and gauge reports.  Radar estimates show the heaviest rain 
fell in Carroll and Howard counties as well locations immediately 
north of the area.  This is producing flood concerns at numerous 
locations.

Keep abreast of updated river forecasts and possible issuance of 
additional river flood warnings.

Dry weather will return Friday and last through the weekend, 
allowing waterways to drain.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law 
enforcement and request they pass this information to the National 
Weather Service when you can do so safely.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the 
dangers of flooding.

* At 9:45 PM EDT Thursday the stage was 9.2 feet.
* Flood stage is 9.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring.
* Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending 
  at 9:45 PM EDT Thursday was 9.5 feet.
* Forecast...The river is expected to fall to 2.1 feet Tuesday 
  evening.
* Impact...At 8.0 feet, Turkey Foot Road north of Temple Avenue and 
  Holliday Road begins to flood.  Low areas of Lions Park and 
  Creekside Nature Park are flooded.  Possible flooding of portions 
  of Zionsville Golf Course.

* At 10:15 PM EDT Thursday the stage was 8.5 feet.
* Flood stage is 7.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending 
  at 10:15 PM EDT Thursday was 8.5 feet.
* Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 8.9 feet 
  tomorrow morning. It will then fall below flood stage late 
  tomorrow evening.
* Impact...At 9.0 feet, Johnson County Roads 350 S and 400 S west of 
  US 31 are closed by flood waters.  Upstream in Youngs Creek 
  watershed, flooding of city of Franklin parks with flood waters 
  possibly 3 feet deep in some areas.  CR 200 N at CR 75 W on 
  northwest side of Franklin and CR 250 S west of US 31 closed by 
  high water.   Amity ditch is out of its banks.

  the Mississinewa River near Ridgeville.
* Until late Friday night.
* At 10:00 PM EDT Thursday the stage was 13.0 feet.
* Flood stage is 10.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.
* Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending 
  at 10:00 PM EDT Thursday was 13.1 feet.
* Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 13.5 feet 
  just after midnight tonight. It will then fall below flood stage 
  late tomorrow evening.
* Impact...At 14.0 feet, State Road 1 south of the intersection with 
  SR 28 in western Randolph County is impassable.  Extensive 
  agricultural flooding in progress.  At least a few county roads 
  flooded including West CR 825 east of SR 1 and West River Road 
  west of SR 1.

* At 10:00 PM EDT Thursday the stage was 9.7 feet.
* Flood stage is 9.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending 
  at 10:00 PM EDT Thursday was 9.7 feet.
* Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 10.0 feet 
  just after midnight tonight. It will then fall below flood stage 
  tomorrow afternoon.
* Impact...At 9.5 feet, Flooding in progress along Buck Creek in 
  southeast Marion and northwest Shelby Counties.  Flooding 
  primarily affects agricultural land and some recreational areas.  
  Flooding of Shelby CR 700N one quarter of a mile east of Shelby CR 
  875W may begin at this level especially if Sugar Creek at New 
  Palestine is 7 feet or higher.

* Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 17.3 feet 
  tomorrow morning. It will then fall below flood stage late 
  tomorrow evening.
* Impact...At 17.0 feet, Flood water covers considerable bottomlands 
  and floods a few county roads including the Poland-Bowling Green 
  Road.

* Impact...At 18.0 feet, Montezuma agricultural levee is 
  overtopped.  Fourteen hundred acres of low bottomlands flood.

  feet.
* Flood stage is 16.5 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage late 
  tomorrow morning to a crest of 19.5 feet early Monday morning. It 
  will then fall below flood stage early Thursday morning.
* Impact...At 19.5 feet, Water begins to rise in the Izaak Walton 
  Lake.  Sheet flowing water begins in the wetland project between 
  U.S. 40 and I-70, and during a prolonged flood event project fills 
  about 75 percent.

* Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage late 
  tomorrow morning to a crest of 15.4 feet Saturday evening. It will 
  then fall below flood stage late Monday morning.
* Impact...At 15.6 feet, Jackson County Sheriff's additional roads 
  closed: CR 25 N through Honeytown, Slab Road between the river and 
  Ewing, Rockford Road near the skating rink, SR 235 from Medora to 
  Indiana 135 possible conflict with Sheriff's report.  All these 
  closing found in the republic.com site published in Columbus, IN.

* Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage late 
  tomorrow morning to a crest of 19.4 feet Wednesday morning. It 
  will then fall below flood stage Friday, March 26.
* Impact...At 20.0 feet, Leaverton Park in Palestine and park in 
  Hutsonville begin to flood.  Agricultural flooding spreads to 
  higher land.  Seep water is noticeable behind levees.  Some 
  elevated river cottages are surrounded by water.  Several county 
  or township roads east of Lincoln Heritage Trail between Palestine 
  and Hutsonville in Crawford County Illinois are impassable.

The Flood Warning continues for
  the White River at Petersburg.
* From Friday afternoon to Sunday, March 28.
* At 9:30 PM EDT Thursday /8:30 PM CDT Thursday/ the stage was 13.8 
  feet.
* Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage 
  tomorrow afternoon to a crest of 20.7 feet Thursday morning. It 
  will then fall below flood stage Saturday, March 27.
* Impact...At 20.9 feet, During June 2010 State Road 257 south of 
  Washington began to flood at this crest level at Petersburg after 
  Shoals crested at 18.19 feet.  About a week later Petersburg 
  crested at 21.34 feet...about one half foot higher...but the water 
  did not reach State Road 257 after Shoals crested at 15.59 feet...
  about 2.5 feet lower.  Lost River did not contribute much water 
  during this June flood and locally it was not extremely wet.

* Impact...At 20.0 feet, Most of the low bottomlands flood. Flooding 
  begins in higher bottomlands. High water affects any residents in 
  Pottsville river cabins. Pottsville Road...North C Street on river 
  side of railroad tracks and Catt Street near U.S. Highway 41 are 
  flooded. Water is near or starting on Giro Road in the vicinity of 
  submerged Pottsville Road. Oil stripped fields flood. Flood gates 
  must be installed at Hazleton.
