Flood Warning for the following rivers in Indiana...

  Flatrock River, White River



.Heavy prolonged rainfall is expected to bring flooding to the 
Flatrock and White Rivers.  Flooding is expected to occur on the 
Flatrock at Saint Paul tonight, and begin on the White River at 
Hazleton Sunday.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive 
cars through flooded areas.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the 
dangers of flooding.

  this evening to a crest of 6.9 feet late tonight. It will then 
  fall below flood stage early tomorrow afternoon.
* Impact...At 6.0 feet, At this level on April 20, 2011...
  Bartholomew CR 400N was closed by high water.  Flooding of at 
  least one Shelby county road is also likely.

* There is no current observed data.
* Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage Sunday 
  afternoon and continue rising to a crest of 20.8 feet Saturday, 
  July 24.
* Impact...At 20.0 feet, Most of the low bottomlands flood. Flooding 
  begins in higher bottomlands. High water affects any residents in 
  Pottsville river cabins. Pottsville Road...North C Street on river 
  side of railroad tracks and Catt Street near U.S. Highway 41 are 
  flooded. Water is near or starting on Giro Road in the vicinity of 
  submerged Pottsville Road. Oil stripped fields flood. Flood gates 
  must be installed at Hazleton.

  Big Blue River, Driftwood River, Youngs Creek, East Fork White

.Heavy rainfall late this week over central and southern Indiana 
will produce minor to moderate flooding along portions of area 
waterways this weekend and into next week.

Flooding is expected to mostly last for about one week, though 
flooding on the White River likely will last longer.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive 
cars through flooded areas.

Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law 
enforcement and request they pass this information to the National

  the Driftwood River near Edinburgh 2 SW.
* Until Monday evening.
* At 10:30 PM EDT Friday the stage was 10.6 feet.

* Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage late 
  this evening to a crest of 14.6 feet early tomorrow afternoon. It 
  will then fall below flood stage Monday morning.
* Impact...At 14.9 feet, Extensive flooding along Driftwood River in 
  northern Bartholomew County on March 7 2011.   Double Y Saddle 
  Club area extensively flooded.  Water flowing over CR 950 N to 
  Club.  CR 330W is flooded just south of its intersection with Ohio 
  Ridge Rd.  CR 500N west of CR 250W is flooded blocking vehicular 
  access to residences near the river bank.  Lowell Public Access 
  site is completely flooded.  Water very near several residences 
  and seasonal homes along CR 330W and CR 325W.

  primarily affects agricultural land and some recreational areas.

  Palestine is 7 feet or higher.

* Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage late 
  tomorrow evening to a crest of 21.0 feet Friday evening. It will 
  then fall below flood stage Monday, July 26.
* Impact...At 21.0 feet, Flooding affects higher bottomlands and may 
  affect a few residents in an area known as Dodge City.  Local 
  roads leading to Dodge City area are flooded.  State Road 257 
  south of Washington completely floods at this level if Shoals 
  remains above 16 feet.  Ditch Road begins to flood.

* Impact...At 20.0 feet, Water is at critical levels for makeshift 
  levees.  Most of bottomlands flood.  Old Vincennes road and State 
  Road 358 between Plainville and Edwardsport are impassable by 
  several feet.  High water surrounds river cabins.  This type of 
  flood occurs on average about once a year.

  Sullivan County may flood.  Water level is at the top of most 
  makeshift levees.

* Impact...At 20.0 feet, Most of the low bottomlands flood. Flooding 
  begins in higher bottomlands. High water affects any residents in 
  Pottsville river cabins. Pottsville Road...North C Street on river 
  side of railroad tracks and Catt Street near U.S. Highway 41 are 
  flooded. Water is near or starting on Giro Road in the vicinity of 
  submerged Pottsville Road. Oil stripped fields flood. Flood gates

  Double Y Saddle Club area flooded.  At least 6 inches of water 
  flowing over CR 950N to Club. Water is less than one foot away 
  from CR 330W just south of its intersection with Ohio Ridge Rd. CR 
  500N west of CR 250W is flooded blocking vehicular access to 
  residences near the river bank. Lowell Public Access site is open 
  but ramp is totally flooded. Water close to one residence at 
  Shelby CR 1000S and CR 900W.

  this afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage early Tuesday 
  morning.
* Impact...At 14.9 feet, Extensive flooding along Driftwood River in 
  northern Bartholomew County on March 7 2011.   Double Y Saddle 
  Club area extensively flooded.  Water flowing over CR 950 N to 
  Club.  CR 330W is flooded just south of its intersection with Ohio 
  Ridge Rd.  CR 500N west of CR 250W is flooded blocking vehicular 
  access to residences near the river bank.  Lowell Public Access 
  site is completely flooded.  Water very near several residences 
  and seasonal homes along CR 330W and CR 325W.

* Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending 
  at 11:30 AM EDT Monday /10:30 AM CDT Monday/ was 19.2 feet.
* Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 20.2 feet 
  early Friday morning. It will then fall below flood stage early 
  Monday morning.
* Impact...At 20.5 feet, County Road 250 West from State Road 56 
  floods and blocks the vehicle access to Dodge City.  During the 
  March 2008 flood the river remained above this level from late 
  afternoon March 19 through April 9.   As mid-March 2011 high water 
  was receding...SR 257 south of Washington reopened when Shoals was 
  at 10.5 feet and falling steadily for the past 2 days.

.Minor flooding will continue on the White River from Elliston down 
to Hazleton.  On Monday evening the White River was cresting at 
Edwardsport.  Minor flooding expected to continue through Monday 
July 26 on lower portions of the White River.
