Flood Warning for the following rivers in Indiana...Illinois...

  Wabash River affecting West Central Indiana and East Central 
  Illinois


.Recent heavy rains will produce flooding along the Wabash River. 
Minor flooding will begin today and then continue into the weekend 
for some areas.

Additional rainfall this week may worsen or prolong the flooding.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive 
cars through flooded areas.

Flooding is occurring or is imminent. Most flood related deaths 
occur in automobiles. Do not attempt to cross water covered bridges, 
dips, or low water crossings. Never try to cross a flowing stream, 
even a small one, on foot. To escape rising water find another route 
over higher ground.

* Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 19.3 feet 
  early Wednesday morning. It will then fall below flood stage early 
  Friday morning.
* Impact...At 19.5 feet, Water begins to rise in the Izaak Walton 
  Lake.  Sheet flowing water begins in the wetland project between 
  U.S. 40 and I-70, and during a prolonged flood event project fills 
  about 75 percent.

.Based on forecasts, flooding ended at Hazleton on the White River 
this afternoon.  This bring flooding to a conclusion on the White 
River for this flood event.

Recent heavy rains either currently are producing flooding or soon 
will produce flooding along the Wabash River from Montezuma 
southward.  The crest on the river is approaching Montezuma as of 
early Monday evening, and should reach crest by Tuesday afternoon.   
Based on current river forecasts, flooding is expected to conclude 
by evening of July 3.

Increasing rain chances toward midweek may alter current 
expectations and bring new flooding to area waterways.

Tuesday evening was in the vicinity of Clinton, and should reach 
Riverton by Wednesday night.  Based on current river forecasts, 
flooding is expected to conclude by Saturday evening, July 5.

Rainfall that predominately will fall Wednesday afternoon through 
Thursday afternoon may alter current expectations and bring new or 
continued flooding to area waterways.  Rain is expected to be 
heaviest across the southern half of Indiana.

river is rising again at Montezuma from heavy rains last night and 
this morning. The river should crest at Montezuma late tonight, and 
this second higher crest should reach Terre Haute Saturday 
morning.   Flooding on the Wabash should come to an end by around 
the middle of next week.

.Minor lowland flooding continues on portions of the Wabash River 
from Montezuma southward as a result of recent heavy rainfall. The 
latest rounds of heavy rain, which fell Wednesday night and Thursday 
morning, will keep flooding going longer along this stretch of the 
Wabash as well as likely push the White River into flood at Elliston 
and Edwardsport by late Friday evening.  Flooding is expected to 
last as long late evening Tuesday, July 6.

Dry weather is predicted to last through Tuesday morning.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the 
dangers of flooding.

Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.

* Flood stage is 15.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage late 
  this afternoon to a crest of 17.7 feet tomorrow evening. It will 
  then fall below flood stage early Monday morning.
* Impact...At 17.5 feet, Flooding closes Old Vincennes Road.  High 
  water crosses SR 358 on the Daviess County side just west of the 
  levee.  Flooding begins to affect higher bottomlands.  Residential

Illinois...

  Wabash River at from Terre Haute to Riverton.

  White River at Edwardsport.

.Minor lowland flooding continues on portions of the Wabash River 
from Terre Haute southward as a result of recent heavy rainfall. The 
crest of the Wabash is at Hutsonville. On the White, the crest is 
just past Edwardsport.  Flooding will come to an end on the Wabash 
by Tuesday morning and along the White this evening.

Dry weather is forecast to last until Wednesday.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive 
cars through flooded areas.

* Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage late 
  this afternoon and continue falling to 5.2 feet Wednesday, July 14.
* Impact...At 16.0 feet, Old Vincennes Road and residential property 
  in this area begin to flood.  Flooding of low agricultural fields 
  occurs along portions of the river.

* Impact...At 18.0 feet, Extensive lowland flooding is in progress.
