* Until 1130 PM HST.

* At 836 PM HST, radar indicated heavy rain falling over Maui. The 
  heaviest rain was falling over the southeast slopes of Haleakala, 
  Hana, and portions of the West Maui slopes at a rate of 1 to 2 
  inches per hour. Area streams, including Oheo Gulch are 
  experiencing rapid rises in water levels. Flash flooding is 
  occurring or expected to begin shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by heavy rain.

  IMPACT...Flooding in drainages, streams, rivers, roads,
           properties, and other low-lying areas. Public road

At 1019 PM HST, radar indicated heavy rain continuing over Maui. The 
heaviest rain has been anchored along the southeast slopes of 
Haleakala from Ulupalakua to Hana, falling at a rate of 2 to 3 
inches per hour. Water levels in Oheo Gulch continue to rise, 
indicating likely flash flooding between Hamoa and Kipahulu.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by heavy rain.

  the Hana Highway impassable between mile markers 30 and 31. 
  Additional showers will continue to form and move over the island 
  for the next few hours.

At 112 AM HST, radar indicated a large area of very heavy rain 
moving over West Maui and headed eastward toward Haleakala and the 
southeast slopes down to Hana. Rain rates with the heaviest showers 
remain up to 2 to 3 inches per hour. Hana Highway remains impassable 
between mile markers 30 and 31. Additional showers will continue to 
form and move over the island for the next few hours.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by heavy rain.

* At 217 AM HST, radar indicated very heavy rain falling over Maui. 
  The heaviest rainfall was falling at up 2 to 3 inches per hour and 
  moving into eastern portions of the island where significant rain 
  has already been recorded. The Oheo Gulch stream gage is 
  experiencing another rapid rise in water level and will likely 
  lead to additional flooding impacts along the Hana Highway from 
  Hamoa to Hana.

* At 514 AM HST, radar indicated heavy rain continuing over Maui. 
  The heaviest rainfall is now over the southeast slopes of 
  Haleakala, as well as a new band of showers moving into West Maui. 
  Rain was falling at a rate of 1 to 2 inches per hour. Streams 
  continue to run high, especially Oheo Gulch. Maui Civil Defense 
  reported several landslides including Highway 30 on the Wailuku 
  side of the tunnel and Kula Highway near mile marker 18.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by heavy rain.

spillway at Kaupakalua Dam. Heavy rain continues over central and 
windward Maui and the southeast slopes of Haleakala. Rain was 
falling at a rate of 2 to 4 inches per hour. Flash flooding is 
occurring or expected to begin shortly.

HAZARD...Heavy rain producing life threatening flash flooding.

IMPACT...Significant and life threatening flooding in drainages,
         streams, rivers, roads, properties, and other low lying
         areas. Multiple public road closures expected, as well
         as landslides in steep terrain.

foot. Turn around, don't drown.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of drainage 
ditches and streams, streets, highways, properties, and other low 
lying spots.

The heavy rains may cause rock and mudslides in steep terrain areas.
