The National Weather Service in Honolulu has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  The island of Oahu in Honolulu County

* Until 445 PM HST.

* At 222 PM HST, radar indicated heavy rain and thunderstorms from 
  Wahiawa to Punaluu and Laie with rainfall rates up to 3 inches per 
  hour. Stream levels will rise along the north shore, including 
  Haleiwa.  Additional heavy downpours may develop over Oahu in the 
  next few hours. Flash flooding is occurring or expected to begin 
  shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by heavy rain.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Flooding in drainages, streams, rivers, roads,
           properties, and other low-lying areas. Public road
           closures possible in some areas. Landslides are
           possible in steep terrain.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Wahiawa, Mililani, Wheeler Field, Waikane, Schofield Barracks, 
  Waiahole, Pearl City, Punaluu, Waikele, Hauula, Kaaawa, Kunia, 
  Aiea, Waipahu, Kahaluu, Halawa, Ahuimanu, Laie, Moanalua and 
  Haleiwa.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Stay away from streams, rivers, drainage ditches, and culverts, even 
if they are currently dry.

Do not cross fast flowing or rising water in your vehicle, or on 
foot. Turn around, don't drown.

The heavy rains may cause rock and mudslides in steep terrain areas.

This warning may need to be extended beyond 445 PM HST if flooding 
persists.

Advisory that was in effect for The island of Oahu in Honolulu

...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 445 PM HST THIS 
AFTERNOON FOR THE ISLAND OF OAHU IN HONOLULU COUNTY...

At 316 PM HST, radar indicated thunderstorms with very heavy rain 
from Wahiawa to Punaluu and Kaaawa with rainfall rates up to 3 
inches per hour. The Kaluanui Stream has risen quickly over the last 
hour in response, and stream levels will rise along the north shore, 
including Haleiwa. Additional heavy downpours may develop over Oahu 
in the next few hours. Flash flooding is occurring or expected to 
begin shortly.
