* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
  Central Cherokee County in Upstate South Carolina...

* Until 700 PM EDT.

* At 618 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 4 miles south of
  Gaffney, and is nearly stationary.

  HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Minor hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind 
           damage to trees and power lines.

* Locations impacted include...
  Gaffney, Cherokee Falls, Draytonville and Thicketty. 

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

Brief damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines over small
areas. A brief period of large hail is also possible. Seek shelter
inside an interior room.

Large hail and damaging winds and continuous cloud to ground
lightning is occurring with this storm. Move indoors immediately.

hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning.

CANCELLED...
                
The storm which prompted the warning has weakened below severe
limits, and no longer poses an immediate threat to life or property.
Therefore, the warning has been cancelled.  However heavy rain, 
gusty winds, and frequent lightning are all still possible with this 
thunderstorm.
