Southern Osborne County in north central Kansas...
Southeastern Rooks County in north central Kansas...
* Until 145 PM CDT.
* At 806 AM CDT, Local law enforcement reported flash flooding along
Paradise Creek. Between 3 and 6 inches of rain have fallen.
Although most of the rain has now ended, runoff from the recent
heavy rainfall has resulted in flash flooding of numerous roads
and even a few home evacuations within the warned area. Observers
are reporting that the flash flooding in and around Natoma is as
bad as it was in 1993. Flash flooding is already occurring.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, highways,
streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage
and low-lying areas.

AFTERNOON FOR SOUTHERN OSBORNE AND SOUTHEASTERN ROOKS COUNTIES...
At 905 AM CDT, Emergency management reported flash flooding along
Paradise Creek. Between 3 and 6 inches of rain have fallen.
Although most of the rain has now ended, runoff from the recent
heavy rainfall has resulted in flash flooding of numerous roads.
The south side of Natoma is under water. Evacuations are underway
and over 100 people have been displaced. The flooding being
reported in Natoma is currently estimated by local citizens to be
similar to the significant floods of 1993. Flash flooding is
occurring.
HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing
flash flooding.

AFTERNOON FOR SOUTHWESTERN OSBORNE AND SOUTHEASTERN ROOKS COUNTIES...
At 1251 PM CDT, Emergency management reported flash flooding along
Paradise Creek. Between 3 and 8 inches of rain have fallen within
the Paradise Creek Basin. Flood waters are now receding in Natoma
and areas upstream, but flooding will continue in some areas into
tonight. Numerous roads continue to be impassible. Flash flooding is
occurring.
HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding.
