FOR NORTHEASTERN AURORA AND SOUTHEASTERN JERAULD COUNTIES...
At 649 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Storla, or 10
miles northeast of Plankinton, moving east at 30 mph.
THIS IS A DESTRUCTIVE STORM FOR northern Aurora County.
HAZARD...80 mph wind gusts and tennis ball size hail.
SOURCE...Emergency management. At 635 pm CDT, golf ball size hail
and 80 to 90 mph winds were reported 10 miles north
Plankinton.
IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without
shelter. Mobile homes will be heavily damaged. Expect
considerable damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles.
Extensive tree damage and power outages are likely.
This severe thunderstorm will remain over mainly rural areas of
northeastern Aurora and southeastern Jerauld Counties.
