The National Weather Service in Flagstaff has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for Spring Creek and Walnut Creek...
  Gila County in east central Arizona...

* Until 530 PM MST.

* At 223 PM MST, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing 
  heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain 
  have fallen. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin 
  shortly.

  HAZARD...Life-threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms
           producing flash flooding.

  SOURCE...Doppler radar.

  IMPACT...Life-threatening flash flooding of low-water
           crossings, creeks, normally dry washes and roads.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  mainly rural areas of Gila County

This includes the following highways...
	State Route 288 between mile markers 303 and 304.

Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are possible in the 
warned area.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

In hilly or mountainous terrain, there are many low water crossings 
which will become dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross 
flooded roads. Find an alternate route.

Remain alert for flooding even in locations not receiving rain. 
Normally dry washes, slot canyons and streams can become raging 
killer currents in a matter of minutes, even from distant rainfall.

A Flash Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring. 
If you are in the warned area move to higher ground immediately. 
Residents living along streams and creeks should take immediate 
precautions to protect life and property.

AFTERNOON FOR GILA COUNTY...

At 421 PM MST, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy 
rain across the warned area earlier this afternoon. Between 1 and 2 
inches of rain have fall across the drainage. Flash flooding is 
likely ongoing across this area.

HAZARD...Life-threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing
         flash flooding.

IMPACT...Life-threatening flash flooding of low-water crossings,
         creeks, normally dry washes and roads.
