Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive 
cars through flooded areas.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

* Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 14.3 feet 
  just after midnight tonight. It will then fall below flood stage 
  Friday evening.

* Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 21.9 feet 
  late this evening. It will then fall below flood stage Saturday

  from the Keiths Mill Road bridge. Some areas closer to the creek

  the Chattooga River near Summerville.
* From this morning to Friday evening.
* At 5:45 AM EDT Thursday the stage was 13.3 feet and rising.
* Flood stage is 14 feet.
* Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage this 
  morning to a crest of 18.4 feet this evening. It will then fall 
  below flood stage Friday afternoon.
* Impact...At 18 feet, Significant flooding expands further into the 
  woodlands and fields along the river upstream and downstream from 
  the gage on U.S. Highway 27 or Rome Boulevard. In Trion...portions 
  of the parking lot by the river at Mount Vernon Mills...Second 
  Street near the levee...and athletic fields off Dalton Street are 
  flooded with a foot of water. Also near Lyerly...portions of 
  Lyerly Dam Road near the river are flooded with around one foot of 
  water.

* Until Saturday morning.
* At 6:00 AM EDT Thursday the stage was 10.7 feet and rising.
* Flood stage is 11 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage this 
  morning to a crest of 12.0 feet this afternoon. It will then fall 
  below flood stage early Saturday morning.
* Impact...At 11 feet, Flood Stage is reached. Minor flooding begins 
  of woodlands and fields near the creek upstream and downstream 
  from the gage on the Georgia Highway 146 or Cloud Springs Road 
  bridge. Minor flooding of the creek can also be expected further 
  downstream as it crosses the Tennessee border into the south East 
  Ridge area.

  the Lookout Creek near New England.
* Until Friday evening.
* At 6:00 AM EDT Thursday the stage was 15.8 feet and steady.
* Flood stage is 12 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and is forecast to continue.
* Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 16 feet 
  this morning. It will then fall below flood stage Friday afternoon.
* Impact...At 15 feet, Minor flooding continues to expand along 
  Sells Lane in Trenton...Mason Road near Rising Fawn...and Creek 
  Road near New England. These roads and other roads with creeks 
  flowing into Lookout Creek will flood causing the roads to be 
  closed. The water will be a few feet deep on portions of these 
  roads. Also minor flooding will continue to expand downstream as 
  the creek crosses the Tennessee border into the Tiftona area.
