...The National Weather Service in Austin/San Antonio TX has issued
a Flood Warning for the following rivers in Texas...
Leon Creek At I-35 affecting Bexar County.
For the San Antonio River...including I-35, at Loop 13, Elmendorf,
Floresville, near Falls City, Hwy 72 nr Runge...Major flooding is
forecast.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Even 6 inches of fast-moving flood water can knock you off your feet
and a depth of 2 feet will float your car. Never try to walk, swim,
or drive through such swift water. If you come upon flood waters,
stop, turn around and go another way.

* Flood Warning for
the Leon Creek At I-35.
* Until tomorrow morning.
* At 9:31 AM CDT Tuesday the stage was 6.9 feet.
* Flood stage is 15.0 feet.
* Major flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage this
afternoon to a crest of 20.6 feet late this afternoon. It will
then fall below flood stage just after midnight tonight.
* Impact...At 20.0 feet, Major flooding inundates numerous homes in
Camargo Park above Kelly USA and between Kelly USA and I-35.
Several horse barns are flooded. The jet engine test facility at
Kelly USA is threatened. Roads, streets and low bridges are
potentially deadly.
* Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 20.1
feet on 12/21/1991.

The Flood Warning continues for
the Leon Creek At I-35.
* Until late tomorrow morning.
* At 2:15 PM CDT Tuesday the stage was 19.7 feet.
* Flood stage is 15.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is occurring and major flooding is forecast.
* Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending
at 2:15 PM CDT Tuesday was 19.7 feet.
* Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 23.6 feet
this evening. It will then fall below flood stage late tonight.
* Impact...At 22.0 feet, Many people must be evacuated from homes
near New Laredo Highway (Loop 353) and many homes flood. Three
feet of water are in the jet engine test facility at Kelly USA.
Most secondary and primary roads and low bridges near Leon Creek
are flooded with several feet of water. Mobile homes at Camargo
Park near the San Antonio Missions ball park are severely flooded.
* Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 22.9
feet on 11/22/2004.

* Major flooding is occurring and major flooding is forecast.
* Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending
at 3:45 PM CDT Tuesday was 25.4 feet.
* Forecast...The river will rise to 26.5 feet this evening. It will
then fall below flood stage late tonight to 7.8 feet and begin
rising again tomorrow morning. It will rise to 8.0 feet late
tomorrow morning. It will then fall again and remain below flood
stage.
* Impact...At 26.0 feet, Disastrous flooding puts near seven feet of
flow in buildings in the jet engine test facility at Kelly USA.
Secondary and primary roads and bridges are severely flooded and
dangerous to motorists above Highway 90 to below I-35. Numerous
people must be evacuated from lowest homes near the New Laredo
Highway (Loop 353).
* Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 27.2
feet on 07/02/2002.

* Impact...At 39.0 feet, Moderate lowland flooding damages crops and
floods pastureland below San Antonio to below Floresville.
Secondary roads and low bridges, irrigation pumps, oil field pump
jacks and tank batteries flood. Livestock are cut off in low areas.

* Impact...At 28.0 feet, Major flooding puts the Farm to Market 1937
bridge floor under eight feet of water. Flow approaches homes
downstream near Losoya. Livestock are cut off and potentiallly
drowned in the flood plain.
