The National Weather Service in Pleasant Hill has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Southern Wyandotte County in northeastern Kansas...
  Southwestern Leavenworth County in northeastern Kansas...
  Johnson County in east central Kansas...

* Until 800 AM CDT Friday.

* At 154 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated several rounds of 
  thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Three 
  to seven inches of rain have already fallen across the warning 
  area. Additional rainfall is expected to move into the area over 
  the next 1-2 hours. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin 
  shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, 
           highways, streets and underpasses as well as other 
           drainage and low lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  Overland Park, Olathe, Shawnee, Lenexa, Leawood, Prairie Village,
  Gardner, Merriam, Mission, Bonner Springs, De Soto, Spring Hill,
  Tonganoxie, Edwardsville, Fairway, Mission Hills, Westwood, Lake
  Quivira, Kansas City and Linwood.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
