...A LAKE EFFECT SNOW BAND WILL CONTINUE TO AFFECT PARTS OF FAR
NORTHERN CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY AND SOUTHWESTERN ERIE COUNTY...
HAZARDS...A lake effect snow band which can rapidly reduce
visibility to less than a quarter of a mile. This lake effect snow
band is producing heavy snow at the rate over 1 inch per hour.
LOCATION AND MOVEMENT...At 709 PM EST, a band of lake effect snow
extended from Silver Creek to Eden to Hamburg. The band will
continue to impact Interstate 90, Route 5 and US Highway 219. The
heaviest portion of the band on the 90 will be from Silver Creek to
Hamburg. The band will remain nearly stationary through 8 p.m. and
then it is expected to weaken as it moves northward late this
evening.
LOCATIONS IMPACTED INCLUDE...
West Seneca, Dunkirk, Hamburg, East Aurora, Evans, Boston, Eden,
Colden, Orchard Park, Silver Creek, Angola, North Collins, Derby,
Elma Center, Evangola State Park, Angola on the Lake, North Boston,
Billington Heights, Holland and Farnham.
This includes Interstate 90 between exits 58 and 57.
