Temperatures will struggle to reach or warm above freezing on Monday, before a hard freeze is expected Monday night. An upper level disturbance will help increase precipitation into tonight before drying from west to east Monday morning. At times this morning into this afternoon, especially across the northwestern ranchlands, sleet or ice pellets may mix in with rain. As temperatures at the surface drop to freezing this evening into tonight, any rainfall will become freezing rain, potentially mixed at times with sleet or ice pellets. A glaze to one tenth of an inch of ice accumulation is likely by Monday morning, causing significant impacts to travel. Snow flurries or light snow may mix in Monday morning across portions of the northern ranchlands before ending from west to east, with little to no snow accumulation expected at this time. The combination of steady northern winds and cold temperatures will produce wind chill values into the 20 to 30 degree range this morning, and again this evening, before dropping into the 10 to 20 degree range late tonight.
