The National Weather Service in Brownsville has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Northwestern Cameron County in deep south Texas...

* Until 100 AM CDT.

* At 1101 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain across the 
  warned area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen on top of 
  what fell earlier today. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 
  inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing 
  or expected to begin shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by heavy rain.

  SOURCE...Radar.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
           areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
           other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Harlingen, La Feria, Santa Rosa, Palm Valley, Rangerville, 
  Primera, Combes, Palm Valley Police Department, Doctor Hesiquio 
  Rodriguez Elementary School, Wilson Elementary School, Moises Vela 
  Middle School, Harlingen High School South, Lamar Elementary 
  School, Combes Community Center, Harlingen City Reservoir, 
  Harligen Municipal Golf Course, Dishman Elementary School, 
  Harlingen Public Library, Harlingen High School and La Feria North.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the 
dangers of flooding.

Flood waters have receded to a point where flash flooding is not an 
imminent threat. However, moderate to heavy rain is still occurring 
in the area. Please continue to heed remaining road closures.

a portion of Deep South Texas.
