The National Weather Service in Norton has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Southern Worcester County in central Massachusetts...
  East Central Hampden County in western Massachusetts...
  East Central Hampshire County in western Massachusetts...

* Until 1215 PM EDT.

* At 918 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing 
  torrential rain over western Massachusetts and northern 
  Connecticut that will move into the warned area. There have been 
  numerous reports of urban and poor drainage flooding and road 
  closures in several towns in Hartford County from this band of 
  torrential rains. Up to 1 inch of rain has fallen. The expected 
  rainfall rate is 1.5 inches in 1 hour. Excessive rains may cause 
  urban and poor drainage flash flooding, especially in the city of 
  Worcester, with sharp rises on creeks and streams. Flash flooding 
  is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
           areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
           other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1215 PM EDT THIS 
AFTERNOON FOR SOUTHERN WORCESTER, EAST CENTRAL HAMPDEN AND EAST 
CENTRAL HAMPSHIRE COUNTIES...

At 1033 AM EDT, emergency management in the city of Worcester 
reported numerous roads with high water or are impassable from 
excessive rains. These include portions of Chandler Street, Park 
Avenue, near 111 Southwest Cutoff, and on parts of Grafton Street. 
Between 3 and 4 inches of rain have fallen. The expected rainfall 
rate is 1 inch in 1 hour. Flash flooding is already occurring and 
additional areas of flooding are possible.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE...Emergency management reported.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
         highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
         drainage and low-lying areas.
