The National Weather Service in Albany has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
  East central Berkshire County in western Massachusetts...

* Until 430 PM EDT.

* At 408 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Becket, or 11
  miles southeast of Pittsfield, moving east at 30 mph.

  This is a very dangerous storm.

  HAZARD...80 mph wind gusts and golf ball size hail.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without 
           shelter. Mobile homes will be heavily damaged. Expect 
           considerable damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles. 
           Extensive tree damage and power outages are likely.

* Locations impacted include...
  Becket, Washington, Bonny Rigg Corners and Becket Center. 

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

Large hail and damaging winds and continuous cloud to ground
lightning is occurring with this storm. Move indoors immediately.
Lightning is one of nature's leading killers. Remember, if you can
hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning.

Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
