.NEAR TERM /UNTIL 6 PM THIS EVENING/...
As of 1220 PM EST Saturday...
Low pressure off the New England coast will scoot to the
northeast today and will drag a weak cold front slowly across
the area this afternoon and evening. This will lead to a drier
afternoon with at least partial sunshine and unseasonable warmth.
High temps around 60 N to upper 60s SE.

.SHORT TERM /6 PM THIS EVENING THROUGH TUESDAY/...
As of 230 AM EST Saturday...
The break from the rain will be short-lived. The frontal boundary
that crosses Saturday will stall to our south in the vicinity of the
Carolina coast. Low pressure develops over the SE states and is
expected to track across the Carolinas by Sunday morning and off the
Mid-Atlantic coast by Sunday afternoon. This will result in another
soaking rain for the area from late Saturday night through Sunday as
a large area of moderate rain overspreads the area from SW to NE.
Precip will be on our doorstep around 06Z Sunday, spreading across
the area during the morning, and exiting the NE portions of the area
during the afternoon into evening hours. Generally looking at 0.5-
1.0 inch of rain. This rain when combined with the rain we just had
will result in 3 day totals of 1-1.75 inches across the area. This
may result in some minor flooding in poor drainage areas, and rises
on several area rivers into early next week.
Temps on Sunday will be tricky depending on the exact track of the
low as it cuts across the area. Assuming a track closer to the
coast, will continue to go cooler than guidance over inland areas.
Expecting high temps in the lower 40s NW to upper 50s SE.
The low exits to the NE from Sunday night through Monday as the
associated closed upper low moves into New England. One more upper
shortwave passes by to our south during this time. Not expecting any
precip with this, but skies will remain partly to perhaps mostly
cloudy Sunday night into Monday. Low temps Sunday night range from
the low 30s NW to upper 30s SE.
High pressure builds in from the west on Monday. Expect gradual
clearing throughout the day as drier air filters into the region.
High temps right around seasonal norms ranging from the upper 40s to
lower 50s.

Generally seasonable wx expected mid week into next week. Final
piece of trough aloft to exit the coast Tue night then sfc hi

from the SW and potentially affect the local area. There remain
timing and overall development issues this far out wrt to storm
at that time frame. Have increased clouds and PoPs (to at least
CHC) Fri...continuing into Sat. Mid-Atlantic region will be void
of cold/Arctic air so generally disregarding 12Z/02 GFS attm (by
next Sat) wrt ptype.

A frontal boundary crosses the area this afternoon into
evening. The wind will become NW this afternoon and then
becomes NE late tonight through the end of the period. Flight
restrictions return tonight as a low pressure system tracks
across the southeast. IFR/LIFR ceilings by early Sunday morning
along with precip spreading into and across the region from SW
to NE. These restrictions will last through the day on Sunday.
OUTLOOK...Flight restrictions continue through Sunday evening
before conditions improve as the low pulls NE away from the
area.

A weak cold front will settle (just) S of the local waters this
evening. Lo pres which develops INVOF coastal SC tracks NE along
that front...reaching the nrn NC ocean waters by late Sun then
continues (while intensifying) to the NE and away from the coast
Sun afternoon/night. Sfc hi pres builds back near the local
waters Mon to be followed by a weak trough (sfc-aloft) crossing
the region late Mon/Mon night.
W winds (blo 10 kt) becoming NNE tonight. As lo pres tracks by
(across the nrn NC ocean waters) Sun morning...a period of
increased ENE winds (to about roughly 20 kt) is expected from
near the mouth of the Ches Bay and S of VA Beach. Seas could
briefly reach 4 ft at the mouth of the bay...and 5 ft on the
ocean. For right now...will not go w/ SCA given very short time
frame of any impacts. Once lo pres tracks off the coast...NW
winds and CAA begin and lead to a period of increased speeds
(15-25 kt) over the bay/sound/ocean. Will go w/ SCAs on the
Ches Bay (wind speeds 15-25 kt) and nrn 1/2 of the ocean waters
(wind speeds 15-25 kt...seas 4-5 ft). Some lowering of the wind
speeds expected Mon then another period of NW winds to 15-20 kt
expected by late Mon night into Wed (associated w/ another round
