...WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM AKDT THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Heavy snow. Additional snow accumulations of up to 3 
  inches. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph.

* WHERE...Haines Borough, and Haines Highway.

* WHEN...Until 6 PM AKDT this evening.

* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. Wet snow may be
  difficult to remove. 

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...6 to 9 inches of snow have been already
  been reported around the Haines area beginning last night. Snow
  will continue to this afternoon and start mix with rain by late
  afternoon around Haines. 

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in
your vehicle in case of an emergency.

  late morning, then snow levels rise to around 700 feet with 
  moderate to heavy rain showers in the afternoon.

Snow will continue to fall tonight, but precipitation rates and
temperatures at or above freezing will minimize and additional
accumulation. As much as 12 inches of snow associated with this
system has been reported in Mud Bay south of Haines.
