The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
  East central Chaves County in southeastern New Mexico...

* Until 1045 AM MDT.

* At 952 AM MDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 14 miles southeast
  of Elkins, or 38 miles northwest of Tatum, moving south at 15 mph.

  HAZARD...Ping pong ball size hail and 60 mph wind gusts.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...People and animals outdoors will be injured. Expect hail 
           damage to roofs, siding, windows, and vehicles. Expect 
           wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

* This severe thunderstorm will remain over mainly rural areas of
  east central Chaves County.

This includes Highway 380 between Mile Markers 187 and 201.

...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1045 AM MDT
FOR EAST CENTRAL CHAVES COUNTY...

At 1004 AM MDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 9 miles northwest
of Caprock, or 33 miles northwest of Tatum, moving south at 20 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to 
         roofs, siding, and trees.

This severe thunderstorm will remain over mainly rural areas of east
central Chaves County.

This includes Highway 380 between Mile Markers 187 and 201.

The storm which prompted the warning has weakened below severe
limits, and no longer poses an immediate threat to life or property.
