The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Central Chaves County in southeastern New Mexico...

* Until 1245 PM MDT.

* At 932 AM MDT, trained weather spotters reported thunderstorms 
  producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2 and 3 
  inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 
  1 inch are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing 
  or expected to begin shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Trained spotters reported.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
           areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
           other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Lake Arthur.

	Highway 285 between Mile Markers 79 and 87.

...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1245 PM MDT THIS 
AFTERNOON FOR CENTRAL CHAVES COUNTY...

At 1201 PM MDT, heavy rainfall has departed the area, although light 
rain showers are possible over the next 30 to 60 minutes. Trained 
weather spotters previously reported thunderstorms producing heavy 
rain across the warned area. Flash flooding is still likely ongoing, 
but waters will gradually recede early this afternoon. Additional 
thunderstorms are expected later this afternoon, and this may 
reaggravate flooding concerns.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE...Trained spotters reported.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
         highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
