The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Western Colfax County in northeastern New Mexico...

* Until 930 PM MDT.

* At 628 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated strong thunderstorms 
  producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 0.75 and 1.25 
  inches of rainfall are estimated to have already fallen. 
  Additional rainfall amounts of 0.25 to 0.75 inches are possible in 
  the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin 
  shortly.

Excessive rainfall over the burn scar will impact creeks and streams 
feeding into the Cimarron River, including areas along U.S. Highway 
64. Any debris flows that might develop will consist of rock, mud, 
ash, vegetation and other loose materials.

  HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Slow moving and heavy
           thunderstorms producing flash flooding.

  SOURCE...Radar.

  IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams,
           urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.

...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 930 PM MDT THIS 
EVENING FOR WESTERN COLFAX COUNTY...

At 746 PM MDT, While heavy rainfall has ended over the warned area, 
significant and excessive runoff from the Ute Park wildfire burn 
scar area will still be possible.

Excessive runoff and possible debris flows from the burn scar will 
impact creeks and streams feeding into the Cimarron River. The 
debris flow can consist of rock, mud, ash, vegetation and other 
loose materials.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE...Radar.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, highways, as
         well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Cimarron, Ute Park, Cimarron Canyon State Park and Philmont Scout 
  Ranch.
