The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Southeastern Chaves County in southeastern New Mexico...

* Until 1045 PM MDT.

* At 743 PM MDT, gauge reports indicated a rapid rise of water along 
  the Rio Felix near Hagerman causing all low water crossings to be 
  flooded.

  HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding.

  SOURCE...Gauges and emergency management reported.

  IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams,
           urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.

* Low water crossings near the Rio Felix along Shoshoni and Morgan 
  roads are flooded, and additional low water crossings are likely 
  flooded as well. Do not attempt to cross the flood waters.

This includes the following highways...
	Highway 285 between Mile Markers 88 and 89.

This includes the following streams and drainages...
  Rio Felix and Pecos River.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

Do not enter or cross flowing water or water of unknown depth.

...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1045 PM MDT THIS 
EVENING FOR SOUTHEASTERN CHAVES COUNTY...

At 936 PM MDT, gauge reports indicated heavy rain upstream caused 
the Rio Felix to rapidly rise to 11.44 feet. The water level is 
still rising, but the rate of rise has slowed. Flash flooding is 
already occurring.

HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding.

SOURCE...Gauges and emergency management reported.

IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of areas along the Rio
         Felix.

All low water crossings along the Rio Felix are flooded.  The west 
Morgan Road bridge is severely damaged.  Road closures are in effect 
there, as well as Cherokee Road south of Chickasaw, Lincoln Road 
south of Chickasaw, Shoshoni Road south of Chickasaw, and Wiggins 
Road. Do not attempt to cross the flood waters.

This includes the following highways...
	Highway 285 near Mile Marker 88.

This includes the following streams and drainages...
  Felix, Rio and Pecos River.
