The National Weather Service in Pueblo has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  South central Huerfano County in southeastern Colorado...
  East central Costilla County in south central Colorado...

* Until 645 PM MDT.

* At 351 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing 
  heavy rain moving towards the warned area. A quick quarter to a 
  half inch of rain is possible as these storms move through. Flash 
  flooding is expected to begin shortly.

  HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Heavy rain producing 
           flash flooding.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, 
           urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  Southern Spring Burn Scar south of Highway 160 in Costilla county,
  Indian Creek on the southeastern Spring Burn Scar and Spring Burn
  Scar south of Highway 160 in Huerfano county.

Excessive rainfall over the burn scar may result in debris flow 
moving through the Bear Creek, Wagon Creek, and Middle Creek 
drainages. The debris flow can consist of rock, mud, vegetation and 
other loose materials.

This includes the following areas, Sulphur Springs on Indian Creek,
County Road 421 near Indian Creek, and South Abeyta Creek near County
Road 441.
  
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Move away from recently burned areas. Life-threatening flooding of
creeks, roads and normally dry arroyos is likely. The heavy rains
will likely trigger rockslides, mudslides and debris flows in steep
terrain, especially in and around these areas.

A Flash Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring.
If you are in the warned area move to higher ground immediately.
Residents living along streams and creeks should take immediate
precautions to protect life and property.

...THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 645 PM MDT FOR
SOUTH CENTRAL HUERFANO AND EAST CENTRAL COSTILLA COUNTIES...

At 514 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy
rain across the warned area. Around three tenths inch of rain has
already fallen.  Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly.

HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Heavy rain producing flash 
         flooding.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, 
         urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.

Wagon Creek and North Middle Creek.

This includes the following areas, Sulphur Springs on Indian Creek,
County Road 421 near Indian Creek, and South Abeyta Creek near County
