Western Kiowa County in southeastern Colorado...

* Until 1145 PM MDT.
* At 843 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Two to three inches of rain
have already fallen. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to
begin shortly.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other
drainage and low lying areas.

NORTH CENTRAL OTERO...WESTERN KIOWA AND SOUTHEASTERN CROWLEY
COUNTIES...
At 921 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy
rain have moved north of the warned area. Doppler radar estimates 2
to 4 inches of rain have already fallen, with a COOP Observer in
Rocky Ford reporting 2.0 inches of rain over the past hour. Flash
flooding is expected to begin shortly.
Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Rocky Ford and Sugar City.
This includes the following streams and drainages...
Arkansas River, Horse Creek, Black Draw and Timpas Creek.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
