The National Weather Service in Miami has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Northern Miami-Dade County in southeastern Florida...

* Until 100 AM EDT.

* At 833 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
  heavy rain across the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or
  expected to begin shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by heavy showers.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, 
           highways, streets and underpasses as well as other 
           drainage and low lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  Miami, Hialeah, Coral Gables, South Miami and Miami Springs. 

Additional rainfall amounts of two to four inches are possible in 
the warned area.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small

...THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 100 AM EDT FOR
NORTHERN MIAMI-DADE COUNTY...

At 950 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated that rainfall rates have 
temporarily decreased over the Flash Flood Warning area. However, 
earlier rainfall rates were significant, and the risk for flooding 
continues, especially as additional heavy rains potentially move 
back into the Flash Flood Warning area.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by heavy showers.

IMPACT...Flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, 
         highways, streets and underpasses as well as other drainage 
         and low lying areas.

ended over the warning area where up to 2 to 3 inches have fallen. 
This amount of rainfall will take some time to dissipate. Therefore, 
the Flash Flood Warning remains will remain in effect until 1 AM EDT 
for Northern MIami-Dade County.
