The National Weather Service in San Juan has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Adjuntas in Puerto Rico...
  Jayuya in Puerto Rico...
  Penuelas in Puerto Rico...
  Ponce in Puerto Rico...

* Until 900 PM AST.

* At 558 PM AST, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing 
  heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain 
  have fallen. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin 
  shortly.

  HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms
           producing flash flooding.

  SOURCE...Doppler radar.

  IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams,
           urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Ponce, Jayuya, Adjuntas, Penuelas, Tallaboa Alta, Santo Domingo, 
  Coto Laurel, Capitanejo, Marueno and Tallaboa.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will 
cause flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, 
streets and underpasses as well as other drainage areas and low 
lying spots.

Stay away or be swept away. River banks and culverts can become 
unstable and unsafe.

A Flash Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring. 
If you are in the warned area move to higher ground immediately. 
Residents living along streams and creeks should take immediate 
precautions to protect life and property.

  Penuelas in Puerto Rico...
  Ponce in Puerto Rico...

* Until 1100 PM AST.

* At 854 PM AST, Doppler radar indicated moderate to heavy rain 
  across the warned area. Between 2 and 4 inches of rain have 
  fallen. Excessive run-off continues. Flash flooding is already 
  occurring.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by heavy rain.

  SOURCE...Doppler radar.

  IMPACT...Flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
           highways, streets and underpasses as well as other
           drainage and low lying areas.
