The National Weather Service in League City has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  North Central Brazoria County in southeastern Texas...
  Northeastern Fort Bend County in southeastern Texas...
  Harris County in southeastern Texas...

* Until 230 AM CDT.

* At 1133 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing 
  heavy rain across the warned area. Between 3 and 6 inches of rain 
  have fallen. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin 
  shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Doppler radar.

  IMPACT...Flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
           highways, streets and underpasses as well as other
           drainage and low lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Pearland, northeastern Sugar Land, northern Missouri City, 
  northwestern Friendswood, Stafford, Bellaire, West University 
  Place, northern Manvel, Piney Point Village, Astrodome Area, 
  Greater Hobby Area, Town West, southern South Belt / Ellington, 
  Mission Bend, southeastern Eldridge / West Oaks, western Clear 
  Lake, Meadows Place, Southside Place, Brookside Village and 
  Golfcrest / Bellfort / Reveille.

Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the 
warned area. Although rainfall has briefly diminished, additional 
showers have recently developed and additional training of rain is 
likely later tonight. In addition, water has not drained off area 
streets and bayous remain high.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the 
dangers of flooding.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small 
creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses 
as well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.

Please report flooding to your local law enforcement agency when you 
can do so safely.

A Flash Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring. 
If you are in the warned area move to higher ground immediately. 
Residents living along streams and creeks should take immediate 
precautions to protect life and property.
