The National Weather Service in Columbia has issued a

* Tornado Warning for...
  East central Orangeburg County in central South Carolina...

* Until 745 PM EDT.
    
* At 709 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado
  was located 7 miles northeast of Holly Hill, or 17 miles northeast
  of Indian Field, moving east at 20 mph.

  HAZARD...Tornado and quarter size hail.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation.

  IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without 
           shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. 
           Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur.  Tree 
           damage is likely.

* This tornadic thunderstorm will remain over mainly rural areas of
  east central Orangeburg County, including the following
  locations... Rocks Pond Campground and Marina, Blounts Landing,
  Eautaw Springs and Eutawville.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Being in a vehicle during a tornado is not safe. Drive to the closest
sturdy building and move to an interior room or closet on the lowest
floor. As a last resort, abandon your car and seek shelter in a ditch
or low lying area away from trees. Do not seek shelter under highway
overpasses.

Immediately move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy 
building.

...A TORNADO WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 745 PM EDT FOR EAST
CENTRAL ORANGEBURG COUNTY...
    
At 725 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado
was located 7 miles southwest of Eastern Lake Marion, or 18 miles
northeast of Indian Field, moving southeast at 20 mph.

HAZARD...Tornado and quarter size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation.

IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without 
         shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage 
         to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur.  Tree damage is 
         likely.

Locations impacted include...
Eautaw Springs, Rocks Pond Campground and Marina and Blounts Landing.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

TAKE COVER NOW! Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest
floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a
mobile home, or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter
and protect yourself from flying debris.

The tornado threat has diminished and the Tornado Warning has been
cancelled. However, large hail and damaging winds remain likely and a
Severe Thunderstorm Warning remains in effect for the area.
