...HIGH RIP CURRENT RISK IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM EDT THIS MORNING
THROUGH THIS EVENING...

The National Weather Service in Mount Holly has issued a High Rip
Current Risk, which is in effect from 11 AM EDT this morning
through this evening.

* LOCATIONS...The New Jersey Shore beaches.

* TIMING...Today through this evening.

* TIDES...Low tides will occur between 2 pm and 4 pm.

* SURF ZONE IMPACTS...A high risk of rip currents means dangerous
  and potentially life threatening conditions exist for all 
  people entering the surf. People visiting the beaches should 
  stay out of the high surf.

* WAVES...3 to 4 feet.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Swim near a lifeguard. If caught in a rip current, relax and
float. Don't swim against the current. If able, swim in a
direction following the shoreline. If unable to escape, face the
shore and call or wave for help.

The National Weather Service in Mount Holly has cancelled the
High Rip Current Risk.

The risk for the formation of dangerous rip currents should
continue to diminish through the evening. Note however, that there
is a high risk of lightning along the shore through late this
evening.
